Description

Ahoy Thar Mateys!

We have lost the bounty that we plundered when we commandeered The Lady Nelson!

Its around here somewhere. The key is 'stuck' at the coords but the treasure is somewhere where else! The ship's log states that the chest is hidden 18 paces west, 8 paces north west from where the key was dropped, then make your way 'down' to the treasure, think big!

Before us Pirates took over the Lady Nelson she served the commonwealth in the early 1800's for many years, exploring the east coast of Australia. She was in this very river and decided it would be a good place for Launceston.

Extra notes: Please dont go on the road and be careful when approching cache. A 'pace' is roughly a meter. Please replace as found.

Mateys.....We failed to mention not to remove the treasure! Somebody has decided to take all the loot for themselves! nah just kidding, has been muggled, have replaced the key at the coords with a standard micro with log.......

On the way home from finding the Windemere Church cache. A quick stop with almost no passing traffic so it was a quick find. Thank you for the cache. Very Happy

23-Sep-18
Nice little cache to find although I wish that the booty was still attached...

29-Dec-16
I can't believe we haven't done this before but as Dilston is now bypassed I think it has been to hard to stop and go to Dilston as usually heading somewhere else. Works out well as can claim for the Summer Scavenger Series games. All good at GZ. TFTC

14-Oct-16
easy find, attempted this one before, but was foiled by a muggle sitting on GZ. awesome night to be out! clear, quiet and beautiful

No problems here and the cache was soon in hand...grabbed while heading a bit further north...

Thanks for the cache Guripper and DGT.

09-Nov-15
Was taken for a drive today and was allowed one cache. I directed from the car and the cache was found very quickly so I pushed my luck and asked to go find another. However my request was refused ! Oh it will be good when I can drive and walk unaided again - only another 10 weeks or so !!TFTC Guripper & DGT

11-Jun-15
Easy drive by pick up.

27-Mar-15
Loz off school, hobbling about on crutches, didn't stop her and she had the cache quickly to hand.. thanks..!!

09-Mar-15
It sounds like this was a great cache before ruined by muggles. Still, we enjoyed our stop here and I thing the chooks enjoyed it too. A nice traditional hiding place. Loved the information booth. Obviously not a lot to say! TFTC

03-Oct-14
A quick find in a quiet spot. What happened to the information booth? So we remain uninformed! TFTC

19-Jun-14
How can I phrase this? We'd just found our first GCA cache earlier today. We followed that up with a GCA FTF. We nearly followed up with a second FTF. But that turned into a DNF. Just on dusk. So things are looking a little down as we head home. DNF's aren't nice. Missed FTF's are even less nice. But hey, we've just "cleared" the Dilston area earlier - & now we're doing GCA's there's another one. So we came back to make sure we'd cleared things up properly. Good thing it was an easy find as the light wasn't too good. We left happier cachers (aarr!).

08-May-14

A very easy find today, the contents had the kid giggling TFTC

05-Jan-14
Quick find while trying not to get blown away by our strong "summery" winds. Kids were fascinated by the 12 week old rubber replica of a foetus gestating in the tin... Shocked TFTC

Would have liked to try for just this one last cache on our East Tamar caching day but a muggle was sitting in his car backed right up to GZ. Waited for a while but he showed no signs of moving in the near future so had to give this one a miss. Thanks for the hide anyway. Confused

12-Jun-12
A quick and easy find.
We also had a quick look to see where we thought the treasure used to be hidden and identified such a place. Pity that a muggle spoilt it Sad

27-May-11
Ahoy there
Got to and logged this cache at 1115hrs.
The highway threw me a little with the construction going on but interesting driving in unknown areas.
Found GZ very interesting; especially the information booth with no information attached.
The booty positioning was interesting and was replaced as found.
TFTC and cheers; OldSaint.

We had been looking forward to finding this cache for many months. This was our first time in the area so we took the opportunity to grab the cache. After reading all the early logs we were disappointed to see that the original cache had been muggled. We found the replacement micro without any problems. TFTC

27-Dec-10

Had a look for this one but the area is a mess following the pruning. Not sure if it is still there or not. Thanks

15-Jul-10
Not much to say about this one other than it was absolutely brilliant!!!.
A huge thanks Guripper and Dgt, you guys rock Mad
and to everyone who hasnt done it you HAVE to do it!!

09-Jul-10
What a great cache - congrats GUR & DGT. We can see why you disabled it - there has been a lot of pruning done. Took a treasure coin & left a soldier. TFTC

04-Jul-10
Good to go with a few adjustments, the recent tree trimming has wrecked the area and we may need to rethink the cache. Please let us know if we need to look at this some more.

15-Jun-10
We really did not want to take this out of action but all the trees are being cut down around it, soon it will just be sitting in the middle of the lawn! Will see what happens with the pruning and hope to put it back nearby soon.

10-Jun-10
Mr mc stayed in the car with the youngest of our clan who was pulling some z's while mum and the other 2 kids haeded off in search of the booty, mrs mc was soon back in the car after bieng "chased" back by the local welcoming committee leaving mad and chilli to fend for themselves. We soon had it sorted and the kids rated this the best cache they have done

06-Jun-10
Congratulations on the presentation of this cache - it is a work of art and is stocked in a most appropriate way. We found the cache quite quickly but it took considerably longer to locate the accessing device - we knew where it should be (and it was) but we kept missing the small object by always feeling a part of the structure. Thanks for a great cache. By the way, there was a welcoming committee of five magnificently plumed roosters who were so friendly that one attempted to jump into the car. TFTC

31-May-10
