Description
10th Anniversary Cache
Far from anywhere is the road to nowhere, out in the west of Tas.
A winding road through a great expanse of plains of buttongrass.
Some call this land the Tarkine, a special wilderness,
But without the Western Explorer, we would see it so much less.
This isolated region is steeped in early mining history,
surrounded by rugged wilderness and unique Tassie scenery.
To find the cache , follow a clambering track alongside Longback ridge to an outlook at the top,
All around here you will see this remote place, and this is where you stop.
11/1/15 Cache Moved to : S41° 33.889' E145° 05.413'
The original cache site had become almost inaccessible by the original track which was completely overgrown, so has been situated at a point much closer to the road. The view from this point is not quite as good as the original, but is still worth the little hike.

Logs
A dawn pack up from our campsite at Stanley and off to get started, the day was just as spectacular as the one before so with good weather and quiet roads being a weekday we had a fantastic run. TFTC
We intended to hit the WWW series and noticed this one along the way, what a lovely bonus cache and the view was so worth the walk up.
A bit of a scamble up to this cache but great to be able to log it. TFTC
A big day of caching with the odd drizzle of rain.
Hiked up the hill and enjoyed the view.
Cache and contents in good condition.
New coords. are : S41° 33.889' E145° 05.413'
TIP: If it has rained take a coat and some waterproof trousers or just dry out at the end like we did.
I believe parts of this track had been duck-boarded prior to the bushfire as we found evidence of treated pine on the upper parts of the track.
Great views and the gentle climg up to the cache made this enjoyable for me.
TNLN, thanks for the cache
