Today was a lovely day for a walk in the bush to find some caches.
I didn't have much trouble finding most of them.
But was getting a bit tied by the end of the walk.

I was in Hobart after caches and this series was on my list for today. How uncivilized... I bush bashed my way the GZ only to find a nice walking track that I would not have to leave to far to get the cache. After getting there a quick find was made.

Hoping to collect some ammunition for the Battleships Game we headed out today to reload our cannon in preperation for firing.

Accurate co ordinates led to quick finds of this enjoyable Geoart series.

Decided to tackle a few Geoart series in Hobart through the week, our day started at 6.00am today to head off to Hobart picking up as many caches as we could find. So it was over the Highland Lakes to target the Battleship series first. After encountering snow,ice and rain we picked up the the Trig in New Norfolk to stretch our legs from the 2.5 hour drive from the North West. Then it was on to the Battleship series. With that one done it was now time to head to Natone Hill reserve.

This is the best series I have done. Thoroughly enjoyed the cache containers and the terrain in which they were hidden. We started off slowly trying to work out which direction we should start in. Ultimately we were going to split up but decided against it. I'm glad that we did. About 10 minutes in we were hit by a really heavy shower of rain and with no protection from the elements got pretty wet, pretty quick. The thought of calling it quits and returning did cross our mind. However insanity prevailed. We were wet already, so continued on to find both the Blockage series and the Smile series in tandem. Caches were ALL dry and well hidden. The containers made an excellent change from the last series we just completed. I would even go to saying these two series had a lot more thought put into to planning and made it an extremely enjoyable experience, even in the rain. Bashing through the scrub looking for tracks to each cache was great. a couple of hides slowed us down by a couple of minutes as they were a tad tricky as there were a couple of gnarly trees and new growth and branches we checked out. Each of these there was a call of " over here, found it" that could be heard.

During the week Trimbletas and i made the decision that we would target some of the caches around the New Norfolk and Geilston Bay area. we planned to go up over the Highland lakes to Hamilton, then down to New Norfolk then over to Geilston Bay. Up bright and early we left the NorthWest at 6.00am as we approached the top of lakes highway we were greeted with around 4 inches of snow on the road, so it was into 4x4 and steadily along until we dropped down onto lake level. we detoured to grab the Bridge over Ouse cache then it was off to Hamilton.
We did a maintenance check of my caches along the way and they were all in great order still.
Arriving in Hamilton we snapped a photo of the trig then headed for New Norfolk where we took a short walk to the trig there, it was then onto the Battleship GeoArt series.
while completing the Battleship caches we were stopped by 4 different property owners concerned with what we were doing. we explained to them what were doing but they still seemed concerned. there was a few caches where we couldnt get off the road and cars came up behind us while we were signing the logs, so we had to try and move the ute out of the way.
After completing the battleship series we made our way through Molesworth and into Berridale where we crossed the Derwent River and headed for Natone Hill.
We got the information for WPT 1 of the Multi and set off in a clockwise direction of the reserve to complete the Smile and Blockage GeoArts, we got as far round as the trigpoint when it started to pour down with rain we got drenched as we bunkered under a tree to wait out the rain, as the rain eased we grabbed the photo of the trig then off to complete the rest of the caches. we got the rest of the info required for the Multi cache but as it was back where we came from we decide to leave it for next time. We really enjoyed completing the Blockage and Smile Geoarts. Thank you SSR and Goose&Egg.
After getting back to the ute and trying to dry out we decide to go check out where the Circle Geoart starts, once there we decided that we would complete it next time as it was getting dark.
A quick drive around to Government hill where we walked up to grab the trigs where we were met by another concerned owner, explained we were there to get a photo of the trig and he was happy to see us on our way.
We then headed for food at Bridgewater before our long journey home.
we stopped to complete several caches along the way and arrived home at 9.30pm. A great day was had with nearly 100 caches attempted for the day. TFTC

Day 2 at Natone Hill Reserve with Newy07. Was a great afternoon and certainly got a good work out, which I really enjoyed and needed, but also enjoyed the spectacular views over the Derwent.
Realised toward the end of the day we were going in the opposite direction to Budgietas and must have passed each other at some stage without knowing, maybe when we were at the bottom of the hill finding WP2 for GA11212, and just before discovering we had to climb back up to the summit . Bummer we missed out on an opportunity to meet him

Hi Stainless-Steel-Rat

Both your geoart and that of Gooseandegg were my main agenda for today.

There was a light breeze which was bitterly cold and as well the undergrowth was saturated so didn't take long to be wet from the knees down.

Had no trouble finding any of the caches with excellent hides and good coords.

Thoroughly enjoyed the trek around here with 33 caches found on Natone Hill today.

Many thanks for an excellent geoart series which I thoroughly enjoyed in an area never been to before with great views across the river.

Returned today trying to complete the Smile and the Blockage GeoArts
Found this side of the hill so much more entertaining than the other - the views are a lot better - THANK YOU
So I found 17 caches today
Doing that, I expended 1633 calories using 8279 steps to walk a total distance of 6.32km
Did not get as wet either - wore better footwear today, so the soxs stayed dry too
This cache was found quickly and was Sainted at 1557 hours
Enjoyed both series immensely

We were enjoying this section of the walk with easy walking and quick finds. There was a little light rain but not enough for us to head to the car for coats.

Thanks for another cache in your Block GeoArt series Stainless-Steel-Rat. Good coordinates meant we made a quick find of a well hidden cache.

It was a perfect autumn day when stainless-steel-rat placed this series and I beta tested them. Today was pretty miserable in comparison!

A heavy overcast day - but no rain as such for a little while, so decided to go and find a few caches.
Wandered around Gordons Hill, Natone Hill and Risdon Brook Dam and managed to find every cache I was looking for.
Started with Geo Kid E, but after I dropped him off I start on the Natone Hill caches.

Today was my first chance to get out and about and look for some geocaches as part of the GCA Battleships game.
The weather didn't look that promising, but it wasn't terrible, and the GeoGSP always needs a walk, so with morning chores done, we headed to Natone Hill for a couple of hours this afternoon.
Natone Hill was my backyard growing up, I couldn't tell you how many times I have walked around that loop or walked to the top, and it was often used as a short-cut to get to any of a number of friends places who lived on the other side of 'the hill'. Well, if I thought I had trodden on every spot of Natone Hill! - although, I'm much closer now. The GeoGSP and I had lots of fun exploring the hill today, (and tomorrow as it turns out). Thanks for placing this series of caches here.
Another quick find at GZ, all is well with the cache.

First day of winter, first day of Battleships and we decided to head to Natone Hill to collect the two sets of geoart that were kindly created to be found during the Battleship games. We parked in Broad Street and headed anti-clockwise and across the contours finding the nicely presented and hidden hides. It was a lovely mild winter's day to be out and about. Thanks for creating the containers and for the effort put into placing and publishing the cool geoart. Ok agree the terrain is worse on the North West side but now on the downhill track. Hooray. TFTGA
