Description

A nice place for a BBQ - Caroline Springs Walk

Bazza Park: The Grange structure was designed by Urban Edge and holds a special place in Naturform’s history. There is a large BBQ shelter, slate roof, stone walls, sandstone pillars, faux stone retaining walls, ornamental plantings around the playground.   Within that space is Bazza’s Park, a memorial place where Barry Earl, Naturform’s masonry foreman, is remembered as it was the last project he worked on.

Caroline Springs, just 25km west of Melbourne is a thriving community with a great trail of paths and walkways between the artificial lakes, ponds and creeks. Set in 800 hectares of grazing land Caroline Springs was developed on greenfield land since starting in 1999. At the north of the suburb is the town square and main shopping centre known as CS Square, and a man-made lake known as Lake Caroline. This series of geocaches takes you along some of the lesser-known pathways around various creeks and waterways on the edge of Caroline Springs.

The cache you seek is a micro container disguised to blend into the surrounds. Always be aware of snakes around water and leaves and think before you put your hands into any hole or where you can’t see the ground.

Must be lucky today was not Australia Day.

No one interested in throwing a snag on the BBQ.

Made for an easy search at GZ.

A fairly quick find thankfully.

My taekwondo Dan would have been impressed.

Today we spent our day geocaching in and around the Caroline Springs area, This was one of 18 finds. Cache and contents are in good condition.

Many thanks caughtatwork, enjoyed our day exploring the area.

Next stop along the way...and I once there I did wonder how the previous finders managed. Turns out a ToTT was there method. No having one of those with me, I had a quick look around and then it was a quick climb/jump and the cache was in hand. Decided to head back to terra firma to sign the log before repeating the process to return the cache. All up about 3 minutes and I was off for the next one.

Thanks the fun [email protected] neat area that I hope gets used a bit when the weather is good. And speaking of good...the cache certainly is.

This was one of the caches we added to our to find list as it is one of the few GA caches with this D/T rating. We needed this to meet one of the dZ Research tasks. we were not sure what we would find at GZ. We were pleasantly surprised when we reached GZ. What a great area. After discussing the retreaval options we opted to use one of our TOTTs. This made for a quick find, sign and replace.

Thanks for a great hide caughtatwork. We enjoyed the challenge this cache presented. This was another surprising FTF at 11:20.
