Description

Rocks - Caroline Springs Walk

You hate me. Just admit it. Although this geocache does come with a hint that should make this either a challenge because you won’t look or easy because you do.

Caroline Springs, just 25km west of Melbourne is a thriving community with a great trail of paths and walkways between the artificial lakes, ponds and creeks. Set in 800 hectares of grazing land Caroline Springs was developed on greenfield land since starting in 1999. At the north of the suburb is the town square and main shopping centre known as CS Square, and a man-made lake known as Lake Caroline. This series of geocaches takes you along some of the lesser-known pathways around various creeks and waterways on the edge of Caroline Springs.

The cache you seek is a micro container disguised to blend into the surrounds. Always be aware of snakes around water and leaves and think before you put your hands into any hole or where you can’t see the ground.

Today we started caching in the area and this was one of 21 caches we found.

Cache and contents are in good condition.

Many thanks caughtatwork for placing this series of caches, we enjoyed our wander around the area.

Mrs Y'stassie had been looking forward to having another go at this trail around Caroline Springs. We were not due on the ferry until 5:30pm so we had plenty of time to make our way around.

When we got to this area we noticed that a large amount of vegetation had been cut and some reed clumps had be removed. we were glad that the GPS was pointing away from the clean up area. As she got close Mrs Y'stassie could see the objects mentioned in the hint and soon saw two little eyes glinting from the rocks and grass.

Thanks for this cache caughtatwork. The containers and log sheet were in good condition.

Now parked the oval watching the local cricket match, having lunch in the air con car before starting out on my last walk for the day. Once back on the beat, I was over to this cache and was pleased to see the hint. Made things a lot easier and after a short search the cache was in hand. Log signed, cache replaced and I was for another one...which turned out to be 3 DNF's in a row. Sad

Thanks for this one - cache all good.

###FTF###

I pulled out the treadly dusted off the cobwebs.

After dropping the geodaughter at school I headed to the springs area for some smileys.

This was the first for the day on a hot day.

It was mosquito central.

But the hide soon showed itself.

TFTC Very Happy
