Description
Towers Hill
At 420 metres, Towers Hill is the highest point in the area and has amazing views. With mining history, bunkers and other features from WWII, plus a video presentation from the cockpit of a bomber, Towers Hill is well worth a visit. And it's all free! There's a walking path from the bottom car park or limited parking at the top.
The cache is a small black container with logbook and pencil.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 79. Charters Towers Day 2. Today was supposed to be a shorter day doing the remaining caches around town I could get to. It turned unto a marathon of long multis zig zaging all over town with a dash way out to the south for one final location. I then had to out wait a ground staff person so I could make a dramatic climb to my last cache of the day. Lots of success, but it all took so much longer than expected.
I was looking for a nearby cache when this one popped up and I was just passing it, so had a quick look and found it in an expected location.

#GA5614 - 12:25; Day eight of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune. Made it through to Townsville last night and headed out to Charters Towers to try our hand at the variety of cache types in the area. After collecting a few caches around the town, we headed up Towers Hill for a few more caches. Met up with Tronador and the three of us set off together to grab some of the caches. Shared a *FTF* on this one as we headed down the hill again. TFTC geono.

Day 8 of the trek to Townsville with LuckyL10n and after a pre event stop in Townsville (not really expected) we ventured out to Charters Towers for a look see.
Arrived at the top of the hill here to find Tronador walking back from another cache. After a bit of a chat we all headed off to find a couple of more caches before time was against us and we need to head off to get up to Caldwell for the night. On the way back down the hill we stopped for this and LL made the find. Log was signed, back in to the air cond car and we head back to east again.
