Description

Wildlife and Awesome rock formations abound in this area.

The cache is a good sized Ammo Box and identifying Ground Zero should be pretty easy considering the cache name. Watch your footing as some of the inclines around here can be a bit slippery.
There are plenty of different ways to get to this cache however we suggest you take the trail in at
S 34° 07.291 E 150° 48.113
and then turn left at the Kia Dealership.

Hope you enjoy the hunt and please take some time to enjoy the views and everything else this place has to offer.
Congrats to TANGLES for the FTF

I chickened out when I saw the tops of the trees at eye level. Maybe another time with somebody who is braver than me.

A work trip to Sydney and a detour or two. This was one and definitely the toughest for the day. With the temp at 37 degrees, I was glad to finally get to GZ and escape the direct heat. Getting there had its fun and I only came across one snake not far from GZ. He was turbo charged with today's heat and very quickly got out of my way. Eventually when at the right level, the treasure was discovered. Yep very pretty here and now I have some local knowledge, I would probably attack this one a little differently.

My first time along this part of the George's River looking for caches. Picked up two on the way to this one. Lots of potential hiding places so it took a little time to find it. Cache is in good condition and dry. Signed the log and replaced it in its spot. Awesome spot. TFTC. Very Happy

Easy find on the way to another geocaching.com cache, Guns of Navarone. This is our first GCA cache Smile. Didn't even know this site existed. Thrilled to see there are more in georges river reserve. It is one of our favourite areas to geocache Very Happy. Picked up a geocoin from this cache that I think has been sitting there for 5 years and was deemed missing.

Caching adventure afternoon with All Strung Out and kieran6...and while part team ASO and k6 ventured farther afield and further down I used age to give sage advice from above ... not that that helped, as Senior ASO made the find ... but under dire threat from Mrs ASO, signed whitemushroom to the log. Wonderful bushland and the flowering of spring was more than evident...lovely. TFTC Smile

I'm pretty sure I found the hidey hole, but I just couldn't find it. Crying or Very sad But the area is very scenic so it wasn't a total loss

I found this cache last year, but since it's so close to the GC cache "Guns of Navarone" and I don't use this site a lot, I didn't realise I'd found the wrong cache. So having found the other cache with JKCourtz, Toriaz, Team Canary and Rainbow Spirit yesterday, I thought I'd log this one properly now and fix the other cache up on the official site. I'm not going to worry about the date for its original finding. So thanks. This was a great cache.

Met up with bikerbuddy, Team Canary, jkcourtz & Rainbow Spirit for a day of caching in this area. Rainbow Spirit & jkcourtz looked for this one & had it found by the time the rest of us had tracked down the nearby GC cache. Certainly had a fun time getting out to join them at this location Smile .

In company with jkcourtz, Team Canary, bikerbuddy, and Toriaz, we found this cache quite close to the GC cache Guns of Navorone today.
I remember trying to find this cache twice before when it was a GC cache, how I missed it then is beyond me as it was a fairly easy find today.
Thanks homedg, my second GCA find!

After finding the nearby GC cache we scrambled around to this one. A great spot to contemplate life.

I met up with Bikerbuddy, Team Canary, Toriaz and Rainbow Spirit to do a range of caches in this area, including this former GC cache which was one of the closest unfound GCA caches to my home. While the others were looking for a nearby GC cache Rainbow Spirit and I started looking for this one. Rainbow Spirit found it and soon we were signing the log. Thanks homedg for keeping it out here and I will remind other cachers that there are plenty of GCA caches in fantastic locations to be found. Big GrinBig Grin.

GCA FTF for me. Hooray.

Haven't been over this way for a while so it was about time and there was a GCA FTF to be had. Surprised no one has done this one since it was moved to GCA.

The new housing development in St Helens Park has completely stuffed up the mtb trails, you now have to ride on road to within a few kilometres of the cache before hiting the dirt again, bummer. The fire trails have been graded and are very smooth, even took a wrong turn, worked it out when the old farm fence was on my left when it should have been on the right. Stashed my bike and scrambled over to the cache. Deed done it was off to Noorumba Reserve for some fun.

TFTC,
Michael (GPS).
