Description
Find and photograph Railway Crossings, whether the train line is in use or not.
You can log as many as you find, but each crossing can only be logged once, duplicate logs will be deleted!
Also you will need the co-ords and at least 2 photos, one of the road crossing the line and one of the tracks , ideally photos of the tracks in each direction and of the road from each side. There is no need to include your GPSr in the photos.
If possible please identify the road and train line.

TRAIN LINE: Hurstbridge Line (Melbourne, VIC)
ROAD: Lower Plenty Rd, Rosanna
I use this busy railway crossing a few times each week and today I stopped to take some photos to fulfill the requirements of this locationless cache.
The railway crossing is in the process of being removed as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project by the Victorian Government. At present there is no railway station here (Rosanna). A new elevated station will be built when the railway tracks are relocated above the road.

Although there is a Railway Crossing not that far from home near the local SES, I decided to log one from when I was out caching with my sister teamashy last November out from Geelong in Victoria. We weren't far from Bacchus Marsh and doing a cache right near the Railway Crossing called Ghosts of Stations Past - Rowsley GC45PMD. This crossing is on Rowsley Station Road. Right next to the crossing there was an old cattle yard and the birds were using an old trough for a drink.

hello rogerw3 thanks for the cache.
I was on my way back home from a bit of caching on the east coast of Tasmania and came back via Campbell Town,
After a couple of DNF I spotted this railway crossing luckily there wasn’t any traffic so I stopped and got a photo.
The crossing is where Franklin Street crosses over the South Line.
The South Line, also known as the Main Line and sometimes the North/South Line or the North–South Line, is a freight rail corridor connecting Hobart to the northern ports of Tasmania. The Railway Line was built by the Tasmanian Main Line Company.

Hello rogerw3 thanks for the cache.
This railway crossing crosses over the Fingal Line near the old convict cells and another cache.
The Fingal Line finishes in in about 1.5km at the Fingal Coalery.
On arrival at Fingal one sees the old convict cells with their unusual pyramidal design, one of the few original reminders of the convict era and can still be seen on the western outskirts of the town. As well as road construction and land development, convicts provided a cheap labour force and much architectural artistry for many of the district’s substantial homesteads.
Im glad I never had to spend any time in the cells as there isn't much room in them.

Hello rogerw3 thanks for the cache.
This railway crossing is where Brown Street crosses over the Fingal Line.
The Fingal Line finishes in in about 1km at the Fingal Coalery.
I have crossed it many times it is on the way to one of the best rallying forests in Tasmania.
There was once a road safety rally that started 50m before the crossing and competitors lost points for not stopping at the crossing.
It wasn't long ago I was nearly ran into when I stopped at the crossing and the car behind me wasn't going to luckily they realised before they hit me.

I have a few crossings to choose from, living rurally, and I chose this one out near Traralgon's Pony Club. The train line is the Gippsland Line, running from Bairnsdale to Melbourne. TFTC Rogerw3
Passing through Kempsey a couple of times last week and grabbed a couple of shots. This crossing is the intersection of the main northern line and Belgrave St, a fairy significant road that links Kempsey and West Kempsey.

Moss Vale - Unanderra line
Gee, you have to keep an eye on Tuena, who seems to have all of Australia covered for finds of some description. What a sweetheart leaving this one for me .
I completely forgot all about this locationless find until some circumstances arose to awaken a sleeping memory. I was travelling to Bowral via Robertson knew there was a freighty coming. Yipee another locationless, and so the lights began flashing and the boom gates dropped. . In all the years I have been through this intersection this situation has not occurred. Thanks for the locationless Rogerw3.

SHEEPWASH ROAD
CALWALLA, NSW
Moss Vale - Unanderra freight line.
I completely forgot all about this locationless find until some circumstances arose to awaken a sleeping memory. I was travelling to Bowral via Robertson and pulled over near the railway crossing. I was most surprised to see the lights begin flashing . In all the years I have been through this intersection this situation has not occurred. Ok, I admit I am a big kid and I got quite excited seeing flashing lights and a freight train coming through . Would you believe it's now on my bucket list , well only as of a couple of days ago. I think i'll start writing a book and add all this zany stuff to it. Happy is he who finds enjoyment in the littlest of things. Ok, so I know that sounds very very bizarre to most people, but, it's true, if the littlest things, no matter how stupid or trivial don't bring some kind of a smile or joy to you then you obviously take life to serious and blah blah blah. My lil Sprout Two was with me, he loves trains, so this made it even more exciting than it would have been. Thanks for the locationless Rogerw3.

Railway Crossing at Bell Station
Bell, NSW
Was pleased to see the train going by, with the pedestrian crossing gates closed and the warning lights flashing, while I was picking up a fellow geocacher here (who just happens to be the CO of this Locationless).
Other photos show the nearby station and area around the station, with a glimpse of the tracks.
Fun to see a kind of 'miniature crossing' for pedestrians only.
Not the busiest station in NSW . . .

There are lots of railway crossings in Melbourne hopefully I picked one that hasn't been logged. This one is in Moonee Ponds on Park Street near Railway Crescent. I was in the car and we were stopped by a train going through the crossing and could not get photos of the track left or right. Hope this is okay.
Today I took a photo of the local rail crossing near my work.
It is Hoppers Crossing and the rd is Old Geelong Rd.
Busy crossing that is one due to be removed soon.
Well maybe not soon but one day.

I came across this railway while searching for a cache in a beautiful park in White Rock, Cairns. I doubt this railway is used anymore. The gauge looks smaller than the main line, which runs along the other side of the Bruce Highway, which had plenty of trains running along it. There were plenty of crossings in Cairns, but I chose this one for this purpose.

Marulan Railway Station - Marulan, NSW
A Historical Walk plaque nearby states the station was officially opened by Sir Henry Parkes on 6 August 1868. Three trains travelled to Marulan, one carrying Sir Henry & his entourage the other two official guests. Whilst the opening ceremony took place the guests in the other trains partook of the prepared luncheon to the point no food was left for the politicians.
This crossing is for pedestrians only. It crosses dual lines which carry passenger services on the Southern Highlands Line & freight on the Main South Line.

Tasmania doesn't have many trains, so I find it kind of surprising to see railway crossings that cross the road and still seem to actually be in use. This seems to be one of those examples at TeaTree, not too far north of Hobart.

Guaranteed unique rail crossing. It was made by a private land owner to act as a gate for his property. The rail only goes about 10ft on either side. The owner was a rail engineer and built this after his retirement.

This railway crossing at Tullochgorum is a bit of a puzzle. Is this an old railway station here? Or is it just a little house and a waiting room conveniently placed along the railway line to serve the nearby property?
I was having my usual success with micros when the bells on the railway crossing across the road started clanging. This crossing leads to the Kiama dump which has been thoughtfully located on the banks of the Minnamurra River. WanderingAus wandered by on the way to placing my new cache GC3BJ14 WanAus 211 - LKA St Mary-In-The-Valley Kelmscott. I was returning to the car park after taking a photo of the railway crossing on the busway entrance to the station on the Perth-Armadale Railway, when a Perth-bound train approached the station, which of course trigger the lights and boom gate, as well as the lights and gate on the pedestrian railway crossing. WanderingAus wandered by on the way to placing my new cache GC3BJ14 WanAus 211 - LKA St Mary-In-The-Valley Kelmscott. I'd been meaning to take photos of the two railway crossings at Kelmscott station, had managed the Exit one, and this time there were heaps of parking spaces in the car park near the other one, probably because a lot of commuters had decided to take a four-day long weekend. Gotta love the good old Aussie work ethic.

WanderingAus wandered by with the WanderingMrs on a run to the beach, and we were held up at this railway crossing when the WanderingMrs took a wrong turn into the industrial area of Kwinana.
This railway crossing is on Mason Road where it crosses the Kwinana Beach Railway. As a bonus I was also able to claim a find of GA1510 Rodgie Dodgie! by Team_Ninja, and when I was preparing one of the photos for GA1510 Rodgie Dodgie! I noticed I'd also captured a piece of rainbow, allowing me to also claim a find of GA1358 The Rainbow By Everlasting. When I was preparing a second photo for GA1510 Rodgie Dodgie! I noticed I'd also captured a pair of yellow signs, allowing me to also claim a find of GA3344 Yellow Crossing Signs by corunnaroad.

WanderingAus wandered by after dropping GA4013 Prince Charming - Leapfrog Racer By iluvtrekking beside the mighty Canning River downstream of Rushton Park in Kelmscott. I've been meaning to take photos of the two railway crossings at Kelmscott station, and this time there was a parking space in the car park near one of them.
This railway crossing is on the busway exit from the station on the Perth-Armadale Railway, the bus stop is on the platform between the up and down lines - how cool is that? Buses enter from the Perth end of the platform and leave from the Armadal end of the platform.

This rail crossing is on the Gunalda to Niva road. The railway line is a branch line off the main Northern rail line from Theebine to Kingaroy. The line was closed in 2007 and in parts has been dismantled. Just up the road is a combined road rail bridge at Niva.

WanderingAus wandered by, heading from Ongerup to Katanning with the WanderingMrs and our three oldest grandchildren, after spending a week in Esperance with our son, his wife, and our two youngest grandchildren.
After lunch in the Katanning Caravan Park the WanderingMrs took the grandchildren to the Katanning Aquatic Centre for an hour or so, and I walked over and got a photo of this railway crossing across from the caravan park, where Creek Street crosses the Southern Railway and the Katanning-Nyabing Railway.

After setting up in the Katanning Caravan Park we headed for the Katanning All Ages Adventure Playground and dropped the kids for an hour or so and headed into town to do some shopping, and on about the 20th time of crossing it I finally got a photo of this railway crossing where Clive Street crosses the Southern Railway.

Not far from Bushlands Caravan Park we crossed the Kalgoorlie-Esperance Railway as it crossed Collier Road. We probably crossed this railway crossing about ten times in the seven days we were in Esperance. On the way back later in the day I took another phto from the opposite side.

WanderingAus wandered by on the way home from a not very successful moveable frog hunt as part of the Leap Frog Moving Cache Race, and was held up at this Railway Crossing where Collier Road crosses the Perth-Midland Railway, while a suburban train crossed in each direction and the Perth-Kalgoorlie Prospector service crossed heading for Kalgoorlie. I was a few cars back so my photo wasn't the best, but about ten metres past the Railway Crossing I was held up by the traffic light on Guildford Road and was able to get another shot out of the window.

A pedestrian crossing at Tallong Railway Station. The next train didn't stop here according to the announcement as I walked onto the platform - must have some electronic device that detects movement. I concluded that a train was due but I was wrong.

This Railway Crossing is on the road to the Don Heads, Devonport, Tasmania. It is not controlled by lights. The stitched photo shows four views: to the north and to the south along the road; to the east (towards Devonport) and to the west along the railway line.

WanderingAus wandered by, taking a slightly roundabout way to get home from Bruce Rock after the annual Back To The Bush Veterans Reunion, and doing some cache maintenance and cache hunting on the way.
After hunting down GC3409R Monolithic by Grammie & Grumpy, which was the only cache within 60 CroKs of Bruce Rock that I hadn't found, I made my way to my cache GC20FH5 WanAus 155 - LKA Kellerberrin to do a bit of maintenance on it.
Back on the road again I made my way to GC20GD5 WanAus 143 - Tammin Trails and then GC20VC8 WanAus 157 - LKA Tammin, and confirmed both caches were still in good order. From there I headed for GC20FF5 WanAus 151 - LKA Cunderdin, replaced the missing cache, and headed for GC20FER WanAus 150 - LKA Meckering. About 200 CroMs from the cemetery I crossed this Railway Crossing where Richardson Street crosses the Trans Australian Railway/Northam-Merredin Railway ("the Trans line"). A short time later I crossed back over it on my way to GC21B2V WanAus 142 - Meckering Meander.

I see that Kellerberrin place namers are more imaginative than those in towns where the streets are named First, Second, Third etc. Earlier on my way to GC20FH5 WanAus 155 - LKA Kellerberrin I crossed at the East Crossing Road crossing, but there wasn't a convenient spot for me to pull over so I decided to leave it for another cacher, or perhaps me on my next maintenance run same time next year.
