Description

The classic and enormously popular Pac-Man video game came out in Japan on May 21, 1980, and by October of that year it was released in the United States. The yellow, pie-shaped Pac-Man character, who travels around a maze trying to eat dots and avoid four hunting ghosts, quickly became an icon of the 1980s. To this day, Pac-Man remains one of the most popular video games in history, and its innovative design has been the focus of numerous books and academic articles.

The game was created by Namco in Japan, and released in the U.S. by Midway. By 1981, approximately 250 million games of Pac-Man were being played in the U.S. each week on 100,000 Pac-Man machines. Since then, Pac-Man has been released on nearly every video game platform. On May 21, 2010, the Google Doodle even featured a playable version to mark the 30th anniversary of Pac-Man's release.

This Series will take you on series of roads from Gunns Plains to Upper Natone.

Hi DEZ055
A trip to the North West Coast saw many caches gathered.
This series was some of those targeted.
It was great to drive roads not done before.
The series was very enjoyable, the caches well presented and generally easy to find.
Those not done will be the goal of a future trip, not far into the remainder of the year.

We spent the long weekend in the area working through some geoart and anything else that caught our attention.
We passed this one a couple of times without actually realising it was here so our last thing to do before our caching weekend wraps up is to grab it and finish the set.
Thanks for the run, some interesting views and bouncy roads to discover.

In the past we usually went looking for GCA caches soon after they had been published. This left us with a limited number of caches to find when a game occurred. Covid and limited travel options put a temporary end to this practice. Thus when the Quest, Crystal Caverns challenge appeared we found that we had a number of local GCA caches to find. We had 19 of DEZ055's PACMAN geoArt caches left to find as well as several GCA trads.

It was a beautiful morning, too nice to stay inside cleaning carpets or for painting eaves. So caching we went.

This cache was our first stop. 9 months after it was last found this cache was still safe and dry in its hiding spot.

Thanks for this cache DEZ055. The road here is in good condition and we had it to ourselves.

While staying in Burnie we headed out caching with Tassie Trekkers to locate the Pacman geoart that has appeared since our last visit. Thanks DEZ055 for creating and hiding this great series. It was a lovely drive around the forests, sometimes on roads we had not been on before. TFTC A recommendation here as this is where we started the series.

Staying at Burnie with whitewebbs we targetted this series of caches.

We enjoyed exploring the roads less travelled.

Many thanks dez055 for creating this geoart.

This was the last in the series for us and not a quick find. We searched in and under and around all the rocks here and was about to give up when we spotted the container way down there. It had obviously been knocked out of place by an animal or washed out. And had then rolled down the hill.
Mr Beetle bravely went down and got it but needed a helping hand to get back up.
We replaced it in the most logical spot and added a couple of rocks to hold it in place.
We did wonder why Sirius did this series but not this one. Not to worry though - it gives us a FTF on this one.

A very enjoyable series and it didn't take that long to complete. Apart from this one they were all quick finds.
We were also lucky not to meet a single vehicle on the gravel roads that we travelled to complete the Pacman!

Thanks DEZ055 for your efforts with this series and for taking us to places we had never been before.
After this one we went to check out the South Riana Dam which looked like another great fishing spot. And we didn't even know it was here.
