Description

This is my first cache and I wanted to placed it in this beautiful spot, overlooking the river and rolling hills. This cache is the size of a small lunch box which contains logbook, pencil, swaps and a travel bug.

Short walk from the Southern end of Pine Island car park, great for children and families.  Once there check out the views, however, watch your step, very busy ants at work.

Found the dinosaur and counters under rock, and cracked container some distance away. No sign of the log book.

This cache was likely washed away a bit in a storm. Found bits from the cache to confirm it was indeed a GA cache. Not sure if there was more to it but I only found contents no box.
I've attached photo of lovely view and another with the content I found, more for DOGWALK than anything else.
Cache will need maintenance.

Another thing to not is that Pine Island South is currently closed during the winter months and will reopen on 1st September. you can walk or ride there but the gates are closed and it made for a longer than expected walk with my toddler.

Have been a bit slack lately - a broken toe makes rock-hopping uncomfortable.

Lovely Canberra day so went for a walk.

The toe is telling me I did a bit much. Oh well.

I have never heard the river so noisy. The water was flowing well, racing over the rocks. A lovely view of the river from here. The log book is now almost dry. TFTC dogwalk.

The container was full of water when I found it. I drained it and dried out the log book. But my signature is probably the only one recognizable now. I have placed it back carefully so that it should not collect water. But a new container or plastic bag could be useful.

The view from here is great and it is on a nice walk along the river.

First geocache ever, beautiful location

Had the day off from work so decided to take the geodaughter for a walk and find some geopcaches around pine island. This is one I thought I had searched for before but was obviously getting mixed up as it was nothing like I "remembered" A pretty simple find and a nice location.

#GA743 - 17:15; I was out and about on a caching run on the southside this afternoon having decided to check out the Pine Island Reserve. It appears the cache that brought me down to this end of the Reserve is across the river, so I followed the path along to this cache and another GC cache instead. A quick find, after which I enjoyed the views before continuing on my way. TFTC dogwalk Very HappyClan Cerberus

Decided on a morning stroll and the stroll was made a bit longer with the southern car park closed. But it was very enjoyable. I arrived at GZ with plenty of flow below and soon found the container. It certainly is a great location.

After a short stroll from the carpark, found myself at this great spot on the track, and soon had the cache spotted. Turns out the container isn't waterproof - in fact there was about a cm of water in it. I poured it out and dried the log a little, but it really needs some TLC

TNLN - Thanks dogwalk!

Found on a big Easter Saturday caching trip. A very nice walk to the cache from the south carpark. Fantastic little viewing platform with a nice easy find as well. Love the view from GZ. Now onto the next cache 90m away! TNLNSL. TFTC!

Took the short walk in from South Pine Island and found the cache out in open. Replaced in an obvious spot and covered with what the hint says.

Not as much water flowing down below as I've seen before, but you can see how high is has been.

Thanks for the cache.

What at top spot. We used to picnic here as children when the road past Woden Plaza was still dirt and I dón't remember the trail. Thank you.

The container is split so we placed it back in its rightful position but upside down, so as not to get water damage.

365. Having just done Not a Bridge Banter I decided to keep walking as to drive around etc would have made it longer than walking. Very slippery on the trail today and almost went teacup up a couple of times. A very noisy river today until just before the cache went it went eerily quiet. The rain held off but the cache didn't. Nice spot all around.

I love how peaceful it is down here Smile

A nice easy walk along a scenic route to a fantastic viewpoint AND a cache, yay! We took Jims godson Kieryn for his first caching adventure today and this was his first find. No swaps, just signed log but thanks for the cache and the view Smile

18-Mar-11
I made this a longer and more enjoyable walk by making my way down from near the stranger pond (parked in the wrong spot in other words) Smile Easy find and the river is up and flowing nicely. No echo though!

Out down this way today and after a dnf on the one before this one my gps decided it would behave itself on this one. After wondering up and down the hill alittle it then settled down enough for me to spot the hide. The river is up so high I havent seen so much water coming over the rocks TFTC

For some reason the maps I have show this one a LOT closer to the river than it is, so I was a bit worried. As it happens it is nowhere near getting washed away. Nice view of the river rushing by. Thanks. Albida.

A nice walk down a familiar track. Lots of water in the river today, but the banks weren't quite as green as I expected them to be. I'm glad I am out here now and not in a couple of months when the grass seeds all dry out! At GZ I found the cache a little higher than my phone GPS indicated.

Chooo ooo *FTF* ! Or is that FFTF? (Facebook First to Find?)
There I was in the middle of watching Steve Jobs keynote on the iPhone 4, when Facebook announced a new wall listing! OK – it was time for a break anyway! That is the first time that I received a new cache alert via facebook! Thanks SS!

Being dark, it was a tad harder to find, and I managed to search all the tough area first! But an easy find in the end! Also, the walk was somewhat longer, as I parked at the top gate! (The gate was open, but I didn’t trust it!). Saw all the peoples training their dogs under lights too! – Took TB. Thanks dogwalk!

My first cache to hide, hope everyone enjoys this one and dont forget to call out "echo". This cache also holds a TB.
