Description
A cache located beside a small creek.
On a walk around Herveys Range this spot is a welcome respite to stop and just let the feet soak in cool stream water.
The creek has water most of the year of course dependant on rains.
If you have kids that use the camps in Herveys Range then they have more than likely been here.
You may see some graffiti on a rock in the creek attesting to this. I suppose you can take them into the bush but you can't make them appreciate it.
The creek is just of Page Rd. There are many ways to get to the cache the worst way is to drive drown Page Rd until you are 20 metres from the cache and then jump the near vertical drop down.
Suggested Route:
Page Road turn-off from Herveys Range Rd is at S19 21 296 E146 27.699
Drive down the hill to S19 21.052 e146 27.944 and turn left down a track.
Park near the creek at S19 20.999 E146 27.901
Walk down the creek through the trees.
The Terrain rating is for a suggested 4WD car. If you are into walking it is not the most unpleasant walk from Herveys Range Rd. The terrain for walkers would be a 3
Enjoy some peace.

However an ammo can is always good and the coin was a nice surprise.
Shame it doesn’t get more visitors. Maybe you should consider listing it on geocaching.com
Thanks Belken
Staying in Townsville for a week and nice to see some GCA caches to find. Parked at the creek and rock hopped to the cache. Happy to make the find as over 5 years since last found - cache and contents are in excellent condition.
Many thanks Belken for publishing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience.

We took the "Worst" way which wasn't all that bad really! Once at GZ we must have had our blinkers on as we walked past the cache a couple of times before finally spotting it!
We grabbed the geocoin the CO mentioned but it does not appear to have been activated.
A fun day was had and thanks for bringing us here.
I'd tried taking a 2WD car down this 'road' once before but got about 200m before reversing out. Even in this higher clearance beast there was still the odd scrape on the bottom. I added the waypoints in so I would find the right turn and ended up parking there as the designated parking spot was only 120 metres further on - a bit of a hole in the track too.
Headed down the creek into the lost world. Plenty of water but it's been higher recently. It was only 180m of rock hopping and I didn't get wet feet. Headed away from the falls to GZ to a likely spot - spotted a snake asleep in a cleft to the right. Ended up finding the cache a bit to the left of the spot that looks like the hidey hole.
Opened the very dry cache and signed the log. There's been a muggle find since the last logged find (will add photo). Signed and replaced. Why don't more people bother?
Back to the track and then headed further along it to the old railway line and "Roach Central" - to be continued.
Thanks!
Cache is in excellent condition.

Once at GZ, there was a great spot to sit in the sun and enjoy the countryside but we didn't linger too long as we'd left half the group back at the cars. I did offer to plunge myself into the cold water for a photo opp and to cover off an event in the Geosportz 2012 but it never actually happened.
Once back at the cars, we decided to boil the billy rather than go back to the tearooms and it was a great decision. There can be nothing better than sitting at such a beautiful spot with new friends and swapping stories over morning tea.
This cache ought to have a heap more visitors, I hope the Townsville cachers discover GCA soon and come up here to enjoy the area too. Big thanks to BelKen for placing the cache and being kind enough to take me out this way.
One thing I must say is that the ammo tin has stood up to the NQLD weather witout one hitch. The contents are as fresh and as dry as the day I put them in. Why they aren't used more up here I don't know. A lot of PVC pipes are used and they don't seem to hold up.
I dropped a BelKen coin in the cache for the next finder. It has been at the bottom of my pack for a while. Its coming to the end of the dry season and the creek is still flowing and a marvellous spot to visit.
Thanks BelKen for the cache and FTF prize.
