We decided to spend the long weekend in the van at Pioneer Park and pick up some local caches. In hindsight we should have stayed here but maybe next time.
Quick easy find, TFTC

We noticed that this traditional cache was not far away so took a short detour to look for it. Fortunately, there were no campers in the area so we could search unobserved. Our GPS unit was not settling so the hint proved very useful. After a short time we spotted the hide and had soon extracted the well-hidden cache.

Thanks for another top hide Sirius Tas. The container and contents were in good condition.

Out and about in the area and stopped with Tassie Trekkers to do this new cache before commencing the new pacman geoart. A lovely spot for a cache.

Hi Sirius,
We decided to go for a drive for something to do so we ventured up here to the Upper Natone Reserve,
on arrival there was a couple of cars with some people playing at the playground while others looked to be out motorbike riding.
we gathered information from the info board and had the coordinates worked out, we decided to drive around the corner to the camping area cache out of site from the people in the park.
A quick find was made at the cam site cache with accurate coordinates, we were suprised there was only one othr name in the logbook,
Then we set off on the Lagoon walk to locate the other cache, as we approached the area we intially looked at the wrong rock, after a brief search we located the cache in its hiding place. signed then headed back to the car.
we were going to grab the GC cache while here but the people were still play on the playground so we headed along to Lake Kara to look for the cache there.
We searched high and low but no cache was found there looks like floods may have claimed this one.
overall 2 finds out of 3 searches wasnt too bad of a night. TFTC

Didn't expect to be getting a FTF today while out hunting down the Pacman GeoArt series but we did here.
Have camped here on a few occasions and it is a great spot. The most memorable time was when friends brought visitors from Taiwan camping with us here. They had never been camping before and it was quite an experience for them, especially the camp fire - they must have taken at least a hundred photos of that as that isn't allowed where they come from!
Today the boom gate was open and we were able to drive straight to GZ.
A quick find was then made.
Thanks Sirius.
