Description

A Sistema Container undercover.

You are looking for a regular sized Sistema Container.  There is a cleared area for safe parking, a good one with the geokids.  If you time this one for lunch or afternoon tea, there is a great local spot nearby to rest a while and take in the view on their deck, or for the geowine enthusiasts, there are a couple of wonderful cellars in this area.  Take care when re-hiding this cache or it'll be too easy for muggles.  For the First to Find, there is something for NightCachers.

We had loaded up Scooby Doo (Car) & the Mystery Machine (Van and mobile GEO HQ) and headed off to Kingaroy QLD for the inaugural Baconfest. After checking into the Kingaroy Holiday Park (Recommended) we were all set for 3 days of celebrating all things bacon. Although apart from the event name, most of the weekend showcased pork rather than bacon.
With all that yummy bacon and pork on offer (the “Butchers Block’ meal in the RSL bistro is certainly a vegan free zone) we needed to do a bit in between to stop the arteries hardening completely, what better way to do it than chase a few caches.
One of 20+ easy finds in between rain showers and lunch at Baconfest.
The container is not well hidden to the point it has suffered badly from UV damage and both the lid and the base have pieces breaking away. Thanks to the ban we didn’t even have a shopping bag to wrap it in.
We took nothing but memories; we left nothing but footprints, and our tag.
The hide is very open, the container is in just plain stuffed. and the log is in good condition and ready for the next finder.
Thanks for the cache free2explore.
Cheers

Left my wife back in town looking through the shops while I headed out for this one and other nearby one. Arrived at GZ and spotted the cache as it was out in the open a little, so an easy find which was pleasing. Container is a little worse for wear (see photo) but the log was nice and dry so no problems there. Great to see an older cache still out there in the field.

Thanks for the cache and showing me the area Free2Explorer....

Our GPS was really struggling with the roads around here and took us in a very roundabout route to this one. The first approach took us to a dead end road, there was a track past the end of road sign but it definitely wasn't somewhere we could go with the van. Ignoring it we made our own way to GZ where there was a great pull off area next to a perfectly good bitumen road.
The cache was quickly located and even though it hasn't been found for a while was in good condition.
Liked the old building at the front of the winery opposite GZ. Thanks for the cache, it's good that there is a few GCA ones in Kingaroy.

Out looking for some of the older caches in our area. Found this one at given coordinates, all intact and okay. Signed the log and returned to its hiding spot. Restaurant nearby has now changed hands twice since this cache was placed, formerly known as the Bell Tower, then Booie Bella Vista and now Cassis.

Through my job as a disability support worker,I'm introducing another friend to the marvels of geocaching. We decided to have a look for this one again, and John had no trouble locating it. GPSr took him right to GZ, and to our amazement the cache was lying in full view beside the car parking area. After signing the log we placed it back in a less obvious spot, closer to where I located it a cuppla years ago with Trevor. It's now definitely out of "muggle-view", but still pretty easy to locate. Cheers, and TFTC, from Bindair Dundat and John N.

Couldn't locate the cache. The lantana and vines have taken over the area.

We were having difficulty locating this cache with all the lantana about, but having read youngoldfella's log, the cache was soon in hand. The building nearby looked like it might be a nice place to visit. TFTC Garfield69au

Trev was very excited to get back to this one for a second attempt. Thanks to youngoldfella for your assistance - it's easy now to see "Y" we were able to find it this time around. Trev made a couple of swaps, took one of the pathtags, then I signed the log. TFTC - Cheers, Bindair Dundat.

WARNING There may be a spoiler in here somewhere. WARNING

After seeing the DNF on this one and knowing that Trevor is just starting his adventure with the guidance of his mentor I decided to revisit this one. The GZ is exactly where I found it. The container is in good condition and everything inside is dry. Left some of my pathtags there for Trevor if he ever gets to find it. The additional hint is very close. Knowing where it is on approach I could actually see the container. If you park very close to where there is extreme evidence of a track and look at ground level without climbing up onto the actual level where the undegrowth is dense I do not see "Y" you should miis this one. "Y" do I say this. Some objects that one may find in the bush have some similar shapes. "Y" I do not know Nature I guess. Have fun.

Trev and I spent about half an hour looking for this one, but alas it eluded us this time. We even read youngoldfellas log and took into account the possible 4 metre "shift" in GZ, but no cache. Will go there again soon armed with a probe (stick) to see if we can penetrate the undergrowth. I'll take Mrs Dundat next time.... she never misses a trick !!! Cheers, Bindair Dundat.

FTF at 0700. No traffic around and a very safe spot to park the geomobile. Was a little concerned about all that ground cover as my GPSr had me to the left of the actual Gz by about 4 meters. I took the hint literally and searched at ground level and under half a meter from the edge of the ground cover and had the cache in hand about ten minutes after alighting from my mode of transport. Took the FTF gift. Thankyou. Going to Brisbane the long way via Wrattens forest and Gallangowan and down the back road to kilkoy.
