Description
Ginninderra Creek, rises on the northern border between the ACT and NSW, with its source found in the Spring Range, located north-east of Hall.
The creek flows generally south-west across the Ginninderra Plain, through Gungahlin and Belconnen and then heads west, flowing into NSW towards its confluence with the Murrumbidgee River.
The creek catchment carries approximately a quarter of Canberra's urban runoff, which does pose a pollution risk to Murrumbidgee River aquatic ecosystems.
Ginninderra Creek is impounded by Gungahlin Pond and Lake Ginninderra. This man-made lake was constructed in 1974 to act as a sedmentation pond to improve water quality flowing into the river.
The cache is hidden just off the path, so please recover to avoid it being muggled.
Dogs are permitted - keep them on leash along the bike paths.
Room for small swaps - please BYOP.
