Description

Xtreme Weather - A fun Locationless Challenge Event to check your Minimum and Maximum Temperatures of one day - 26th August, 2021.

Why the 26th, because the minimum forecast here in Alice Springs is going to be a chilling 0*, yes, Zero degrees.

While traveling around Australia, we have experienced quite a few weather phenomenums.

Whether it be extreme heat, or whether it be extreme cold, somewhere in the middle is nice.

We are nearly at the middle - The Geologial Centre of Australia is 213kms from us.

The Weather constantly dictates where many Nomads travel. This year it's the Covid dictating where most Nomads travel.

Most Nomads travel North to the warmth, yet we often travel in the opposite direction  -  Tasmania in Winter is a Magical place to explore :-)

We have experienced the cold and wet, the heat and humidity, but here in Alice Springs at the moment, it's freezing in the mornings, yet you need the air con on in the evenings.

Have you ever experienced this diversity in the range of minimum and maximum temperatures?

It'll be interesting to see which location in Australia has the greatest temperature range on one day.

This Xtreme Weather Locationless Event is for you to record your minimum and maximum temperatures for the 26th August, 2021

and share the variation and your location  in Austalia in your attendance log.

Whether you are influenced by the Weather,

I'm pretty sure there are no wethers here in Alice Springs at the moment.

A rather chilly night out there, nice and warm in here in front of the heater.
Our most memorable xtreme weather day would most certainly be October 12th 1989
We were on our honeymoon in Tasmania, staying for two nights at Cradle Mountain Resort.
IT SNOWED!! I started snowing as we drove in.
We had snow ball fights with another couple from Melbourne, whom we had just met at dinner. We even built a snowman.
Overnight on the last night it rained and washed most of the snow away.
Thanks for the great cache pood. Clapping

A pretty typical winter's day here in the Gosford area today ... 7.4 in the morning rising to a maximum of 17.2. Much better than the last couple of days when we had freezing gale force winds.

In Geelong today the coldest according to the BOM was 6.1 and it reached 12.2 so not a great variation of 6.1, but no rain so it was the day to get rugged up and head out to the garden for a bit of a cleanup.
Thanks pood wish I was Alice Springs but still in lockdown. PrayThink

Sydney area
Partly cloudy. Winds west to southwesterly 15 to 20 km/h tending southeast to southwesterly in the middle of the day then tending southwesterly in the late evening.

Large and powerful surf conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, swimming and surfing.

The high for the day will be 18° with the low of 8° very pleasant after the last couple of days cold and windy.

G’day pood, lovely day here top of 14°, (although it felt like 17°) with an overnight low of 4°.
Range of ten degrees, but getting overcast again now.
Perfect day for our son to get up high and chop the top off our avocado trees, which have grown so big that all the fruit was tiny as the growth was all going into the vegetation.
Hopefully the next crop will be bigger.
Thanks for the event, must rally the troops on our side of the country for you.

After checking my BOM app at about 7am it was about 4c which is today's minimum and 19c at the moment. A range of 15 degrees! Noticed our 4c at Tweed Heads was cooler than all other mainland capitals! It is beautiful weather here for gardening while in lockdown.
