Description
GEOCACHING AUSTRALIA HDD
Below is the wording from the Geocaching Austrlia Shop, where they are offering everyone the chance to buy a little bit of GCA history in the shape of the parts that used to make up the old webserver, I think this is an interesting idea and a good way to help support Geocaching Australia which unlike other websites provides all of its features for nothing.
The decomissioned Geocaching Australia webservers which served the community for years have been dismanted and you can now purchase a part of our history to be used as a moveable geocache.
This HDD assembly comes complete with a HDD (obviously), bison tube with log sheet and split ring and a handy tag also with split ring that you can use to tag the geocache with its GAnnnnn number or even the geocache QR code for easy scanning and logging.
Note that the HDD has a hole drilled through the platters, magnets removed and filled with glue so this part is not reusable or recoverable.
Parts are strictly limited and are priced at a premium as they are the only parts that remain of the old Geocaching Australia webserver history and there can never be any more.
Since this is one of only four HDDs from the old GCA server I would like it to only move within Tasmania to start with so that all Tassie Geocachers have a chance to find and hide this important part of Geocaching Australia history, when I think everyone has had their chance I will move it to a mainland state of my choosing. If you take this moveable out of Tassie expect to have your reading skills questioned along with your questionable parentage!
