Description
Welcome to Gudgenby
I was out caching my way along this road with Kittykatch, Joolay, isopeda and Barb2e today. This was great fun but we quickly discovered that there was a void of GCA caches out this way. After finding a nearby cache, we decided on placing this GCA cache to highlight the area and to give future finders another reason to stop along this great (dirt) road. Beyond this point, it is mainly trig-points for GCA caches. So, enjoy this bonus cache to find along your travels.
Formed by the confluence of Bogong Creek and Middle Creek, the Gudgenby River rises within Namadgi National Park, below Yankee Hat and Mount Gudgenby, on the south-eastern slopes of the Brindabella Range in the south of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). The river flows generally north and north-east, joined by nine tributaries, including the Naas River and Orroral River, before reaching its confluence with the Murrumbidgee River, near Tharwa. The river descends 422 metres (1,385 ft) over its 35 kilometres (22 mi) course.
Joint FTF: Goldenwattle and Decrypter
The Cache:
The cache is hidden near the Gudgenby River and with parking nearby. It is a small container and hidden in a usual way. There is only enough room for the log book meaning no room for SWAG. Also, please remember to BYOP... as all Cachers should. Enjoy!
