Description
A VIRTUAL GEOCACHE FOR ALL THOSE WHO HAVE FINISHED THE CITY 2 SURF
Have you ever run or walked the City 2 Surf?
14km from Hyde Park to Bondi Beach
A fun way to get a smiley.
To log a find:
- Name the year or years you have entered and finished.
- Post a photo of your certifcate or entry bib.
( It is not necessary to have your GPS in the photo, I wouldn't expect anyone to be running with it. But if you are crazy enough to do that, well then go ahead and show us all how really obsessed you are.)

First City2surf for me, amazing it's taken this long given all the other fun runs I've ended up doing.
Finished ~77mins, pretty happy and a fun day out, will be one for the roster. Cheers!

I walked/ran the City 2 Surf two or three times when I was about 20. Unfortunately my diet of vodka & orange, beer, and Commodore 64 games didn't lend much to my fitness, and I remember being pleased to beat 2 hours. Thanks to a bit of soccer and parkrun more recently, I also ran in
2015 - time of 1:45:20, and
2016 - time of 1:34:56
I'm pretty happy with those times, the attached photo is from 2016 (hope it suits). Cheers all!

Not sure how I missed this virtual while in Sydney but I was here especially to run.
I ran last year being 2016 14th Aug.
It was a real bucket list for me from Melbourne.
I conquered heart break hill and run all the way too!!
Bib No 43432 time of 1:26:50 which made my day as I wanted to crack 1:30.

1000 GCA Finds!!!
The was a perfect storm. I have got fit and can run! I was given the chance to raise money for a great charity in Down Syndrome NSW. And there was a cache that years ago I never thought I could run, so I would have to walk one day!
Today I amazed myself and completed the run in 1:40:20!
A very emotional cache for me. The first one I cried tears of joy nearly completing!?!

The first time I did the City to Surf was while I was in school in 1978 - 1981 but I no longer have the bibs from those times, I then did the City to Surf in 2008 & 2009 with Blacktown Aquatic Centre. The image shows my bib number and the singlet that I wore. Halfway through I hurt my calf and had to walk the rest of the way and made it in the end

I've always walked the City2Surf. When walking alone, I do it in 2 hours 20 minutes. When walking with others, I am in the back of the pack and end up in less than 4 hours.
I've done it for sure in 2000 and some more years by myself.
[...at least two times here...]
In 2005 with GeoDirk in a sling.
[...somewhere here with HanorahTLG in the stroller...]
In 2010 with GeoDirk at least for 50% on my shoulders.
In 2011 with GeoDirk walking mostly himself.
In 2012 with GeoDirk and Hanorah at least for 50% on my shoulders.
In 2013 with GeoDirk and Hanorah walking themselves. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay not more carrying for me.
Currently I'm hoping to get back to under three hours with the two of them in tow, but since they spend a lot of time sightseeing I don't have my hopes up yet.

We did it!!!! Zal and I have been training hard for this run for a few months (though not as long as I waited to log it). As we get close to the big day he tells me the ONLY reason he wanted to do it and put me through all this pain is to log this cache Silly boy!
Im glad he made me though as it was an amazing experience and I had so much fun. We even did much better than we were planning on.
Best of all when the official results came out in the papaer... I won by 1 second hehehe
Thanks Tronador!

What better way to finish off the GeoSportz Marathon than with a 14.4km Run?! Zhaoy and I only started training for this about 6 weeks ago and were aiming for 100 minutes. Last week we posted 60 mins for a 10km run which had us on track.
Today the weather held for great running conditions. Cool, dry and only a bit of wind right at the end. We posted 89:11 minutes which considering how comfortably we did it was a cake walk
This Virtual inspired me to start training, so next year will have to be the Half Marathon! Awesome Day!

What a race! It has by far the best atmosphere of any running race in Sydney, probably due to the fact that it is not just serious runners out there. Heartbreak Hill isn't nearly as tough as it is made out to be...

2009 was my first time and under 90min was my goal. 88.52...Awesome. Picture attached. I'm on the left.

First time this year (2010), and I can't wait to do it again. I'm still waiting for the blood blister to abate, unfortunately.
OK I'll go first.
