Description

We were here chasing an early tadpole feeder but got a bit bored with the lack of action so thought we might hide a cache just to be different. This is a small water storage that was created to supply drinking water but like a lot of things it is no longer used. The location of the cache is in part of the old workings for the pumping station. Its now difficult to work out what is what and how it all worked. There have been some good fish caught from here over the years just not by us. Bring the BBQ and a cold drink maybe a rod and enjoy.

Beautiful day out for a circuit of caching starting in Sheffield with coffees to get the hearts started, and a quick GA at "the Hub". Then onwards to amongst others, this one ! Now well on the way around today's possible finds, in fact the last ! Very surprised like other cachers to "discover" this site. A couple of youthful campers made use of the water, and I enjoyed the view. No trucks to worry about ...... but GZ did look a bit snakey, so reaching down and in was making me a bit edgey. Nearly missed out on success here, but the co-ords are very accurate, so its worth taking a bit of time and persevering. Thankyou Landy_Clan for a very good hide. SmileClan Minotaur

Was out doing some caching around the kentish area, stopped by this one to have a search for it, after a brief search cache was located and the log was signed.
Another odd place that i would never have found if not for geocaching. TFTC

Hi Landy_clan
What a spot to find a pool!
Arm was long enough to extract the cache at 1456hrs.
Interesting!
Lots of noise from up the road a little way.
TFTC and cheers

Took my boy for a walk (plus 2 of his mates) for some geocaching today.

A very interesting place found without a problem at all. We did a bit of expolring about. I got many questions from the boys what that? why is that there? Th eonly reply I could come back with was 'I'm not sure? I think it is some sort of settling pond or filtration/pumping plant for something.

I love it when you get to find a geocache with something more to wonder about than just where the cache is hiding.

Thank you for bringing us here. It would be nice to know more of it's history.

An easy find once we located the road in. Just as well mr sharnie's tribe has long arms as advised in the hint. Surprised this one hasn't been found in a while as all is well with the cache. TFTC

Interesting location I drive past it every day and never knew it was there. TFTH

Geo Kid E wanted a day off as he had not had a sick day this year and thought it was unfair that his brothers and sisters had each had at least one day off sick. So for the last day of school for the term we decided to have a caching trip to Ulverstone, via Sheffield.

Thank you for the cache and for being part of our day out.

Geo Kid E found this cache (after being pointed to the location). Struggling to work out what this was. Surely not a swimming pool.

Found this one early one morning whilst the grass was still covered with a thick frost.
I don't think I've been anywhere else like this, but I can say I have revisited here...

After exploring Bell Mountain and the Moina area, we decided to come back through Cethana and look for this cache. Initially we thought the access road was the entrance to private property but once we got past this incorrect assumption, we were able to drive to within 40m of GZ to make a quick find. TFTC
