Description

Nice spot for a Picnic

Here is a place where i spent much time fishing and exploring as a kid. I find it a great spot to relax even if it the beach is a little different. Cache is a short easy stroll from the western boat ramp at rocky cape (track starts there). Please be mindful of the enviroment by not trashing the bush and shoreline while looking for the cache. Maybee take a picnic or your fishing rod.

Didn't catch any fish here today.

Enjoyed the walk and loved the GZ area. Peaceful and isolated....very cool.

As for the cache...oh well. Looked as per the hint, but maybe the holes grown over or something. Didn't really want to destroy the area so left about 10 minutes down and looking in anyway I could.

Would have topped off the walk, but alas, no cigar today. Thanks anyway TassieAdventura

An easy find on a long weekend camping trip.
I took the foreshore route to the cache as the tide was out and came back along the track to the where our car was parked at the boat-ramp. I spent a quite a few weekends here in the late 60's and early 70's with the Burnie Field Nats Club learning about and developing a love of the local flora, geology and aboriginal caves. The only thing that saddened me was seeing one new massive 'shack' quite out of keeping with all the original 'proper' shacks. TFTC

We were making our way back east with only a couple of days left of our Tassy holiday and detoured into the lovely Rocky Cape. Had a look at the usual attractions here - the lighthouse etc - but would not have come to this particular spot without the presence of a cache. Found the excellent track cut through the scrub to the delightful pebbly beach. Terrific area.

Hi TassieAdventura
From the LH to the boat ramp and a quick, enjoyable amble to this location.
Great spot.
Found and logged the cache quickly at 1505hrs.
The water was lovely and clear today.
TFTC and cheers

A quick find on a very brisk autumn day. The track has seen some recent work and is an easy stroll through the coastal scrub. When we got to GZ the wind almost took your breath away, glad to get back into the shelter of the bush. TFTC

Had a bit of a giggle while walking to this cache. Thought at first that there must have been a park ranger watching this cache as there was evidence of very recent pruning at the start of the track. However that turned out to be for only about 50 metres and the track soon closed in until the last 5 metres or so where you just have to put your head down and push on through the vegetation. As others before us have said it is absolutely worth getting a bit wet to arrive at this great little spot. Can understand what a great spot this would have been for you to spend a lot of time when you were young. So glad we got to see this special place. TFTC Very Happy

Explored down this track on way to Stanley and very pleased that the 3 caches in this area encouraged us to do so. After visiting the nearby GC one we ventured down the path adjacent to the parking spot and had a bit of a slippery walk to GZ. The path is getting quite overgrown towards the end so it needs more cachers to venture down it. The pebble paradise at the end of the path makes the short journey very well worth it. Loved the small and very private beach amongst the rocky outcrops and beautiful white stones on the ground. A short search had the cache in hand. Thanks very much for the cache and bringing us to this location TassieAdventura.

A wet walk down an overgrown path to find the cache, but even being wet is better than walking on the sharp rocks! TFTC.

Took pathtag.

When we arrived, we missed the start of the path because there was a muggle parked in front of it. So we headed out onto the beach, and started following it around. Gee, it isn't called Rocky Cape for nothing! It is quite a beautiful place with some very interesting if evil-looking rock formations (some of them were like blades sticking up!) but pretty tortuous for walking on. So the 'short easy stroll' turned into a long, tiresome difficult scramble, especially in the wind. Finally, we arrived at the pretty, white-pebbled beach. It was blowing so much that bits of cache were likely to be scattered everywhere if we attempted to log on the beach, so we retreated to the shelter of the bushes.

On the way back, we found the path we were supposed to have taken, and it was indeed a lot easier! Thanks for showing us this nice little spot.

Great spot on a mild day. Have spent many days diving out this way and fishing off the rocks behind the light house. Tucked under and covered with a couple of rocks as it was pretty conspicuous...don't want those dastardly muggles thieving it now. Very enjoyable...so many thanks TassieAdventura....Cheers.

A quick easy find after a short stroll across the beach and along a track. Cache was fairly easy to spot from a distance so pushed it a bit further under the shrub. Thanks.

After a day stitching at Sisters Beach decided to pop round the corner to this cache. After a short walk around the beach and a little rock hopping the cache was quickly located. Not a FTF this occurred on the 13th but has not yet been logged. The coastal view was really beautiful even though it was blowing a gale. I took the inland track on the way back and came across the largest mountain berry I've ever seen covered in bright pink berries and small white flowers. A beautiful speciman. Alas I didn't have my camera. Thanks TassieAdventura for bringing me to this delightful spot. I'll attempt your Table Cape cache when my trusty partner returns from his trip to Melbourne.

I had some work to do in Smithton, so thought I would drop in on this one on the way back. We enjoyed the walk down the track (or was it a creek?) and found the pebble beach interesting. Nice to get another FTF too Smile
