Description
This location can be oh so calm and have views for miles or it can be windy and stormy and take on a whole new appearance. This is a good location to try your luck for a fish on a calm day. Check out the rock formations they look like 5 sided paving stones that have been well layed. You will need good foot wear as the walk is a bit tough.
Take advantage of the other caches that are close by and make a day of it.

Found some penguins nesting in rock crevices but no cache was to be found. Very windy, wild day today. So many hiding places so after 20 minutes or so it was back along the very rocky shore.
Looks like Sharnie's Tribe and us had the same glasses on. We couldn't find this either. Going to have to try again another day.
Had a good look but couldn't find this one. Will have to give it a go another day.
Hi landy_clan
Enjoyed mu sea side walk on a slightly windy coast line. Tide was out so didn't get wet on the shelf.
A quick find was made. Read the log and a couple of muggles had signed it and fortunately left the cache as found.
I signed the log at 1142hrs.
Great views and good exercise - thanks.
Cheers OldSaint.

Out for a geocache afternoon with Forthferalz, we found this after quite a lot of searching - it was at the level that seemed logical, but several meters away from where the GPS was pointing.
We were also distracted by a rather smelly stranded lobster post or something like it nearby.
Was a good excuse to wander along here, always an interesting spot.

Thanks landy-clan. I haven't been here for about 40 years when I was a member of the Burnie Field Nats and we walked from here around to the middle of Lillico Beach. I found the amygdaloidal basalt to be just as interesting today as I did all those years ago! I'm not so steady and springy with rock hopping these days so I had to be careful making my way to gz. The tide was dead low and the sea fairly calm so no problems in that area. The co-ords are spot on but there are heaps of rocks at gz however a bit of common sense narrowed down the search area and the cache was soon in hand. The spot was a little wet but the cache contents dry. I wiped the container seal clean and dry to ensure a good seal before replacing the lid.

We have checked this cache. Looks like Santa may have collected it for a Chrissy pressie! We have now replaced it and all is good.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Couldn't find this one, the gps kept taking us back to the same place and it seemed to be the place I would have hidden it too. There was a suspicious looking rock up where it shouldn't have been able to climb but the three of us just couldn't find it.
I had fun getting this cache. It was a grey day and the tessalated rock surface was just under water. Massive waves were crashing up over the rocks below which was both spectacular and relaxing in an odd kind of way.
great hiding spot, was a good place to site for a while and enjoy the view

Now that was a fun after work adventure. The tide was out, the rain/drizzle held off and I was ready for a walk to unwind. I followed the shelf till I could go no further and turned on the GGPSr to be relieved that I had passed the cache. I quick scamper up the slope out of the wave area and then a long pause to think where would I hide the cache. I looked at the GZ a couple of times before I found the cache, but I also looked at quite a few other hiding places. After finding the cache I sat on the shelf edge to watch the unusually abundant number of largish fish in the water so this is a cache that I will remember for quite a while...quite a fishy find! Thanks Landyclan

Thanks Landy Clan for giving me another reason to come here. Love the rock formations here, I remembered to bring the camera this time to get some pics. Will add them shortly. Cache was found quickly which gave us more time to admire the surroundings

Went searching with Jawapro as he had attempted it before the co-ords were corrected and he wanted to give it another go. New co-ords proved to be within a couple of metres, but it still took some clambering about and peering in crevices. Very interesting location. TFTC.

My second attempt. This time I had an extra pair of eyes (UncleTom3) and the corrected co-ords. Still not easy as there are no shortage of rocks here, but we found it this time. The original co-ords were out of the water this time as the tide was out, but the new ones were much closer to the cache. I'd been so close on my first trip too... Thanks for the challenge Landyclan!

A bit on the windy side but it was low tide making it an easier walk to gz. Sat the gps down and let it settle. Found the cache after a short search as the co-ords were good. Thanks

The revised coordinates were much better - in fact, they were spot on after we allowed our GPS a few minutes to settle down. The irony was that we were within one metre of the hide on our first attempt to locate this cache - we just didn't go quite far enough. TFTC
I am very curious to know why the location of the cache appears to cause differences in GPS readings, could it be the high rock cliff. Just curious to find out.
First to log but not first to find. Thought we were going to get a FTF on this one. GPS not real settled but we had it at 375 and 790. Lovely day for a walk and a rock hop. Thanks.
Using new co-ords...still a no go. Would need weighing down with large rocks to avoid being washed away. Better luck to other cachers...Cheers.

Have been back today and found the co ords were out and we are so sorry. It was cloudy when the mark button was hit so that must have been the issue. We checked it today with 2 Garmin map60csx units. So once again sorry for your inconvenience. We will make it up to you in the future. WATCH OUT.
WE have edited the Rock the Don with the new coords.

According to my GPS, this was underwater when I was there - will have to return when the tide's out.
