Bundaberg Rum originated because the local sugar mills had a problem with what to do with the waste molasses after the sugar was extracted. Molasses was heavy and difficult to transport, and the costs of converting it to stock feed were rarely worth the effort. Sugar men first began to think of the profits that could be made from distilling.
The Bundaberg Distilling Company began its operations in 1888, and Bundaberg rum was first produced in 1889.

wasn't looking to Cache while on the National Riley Rally but after a tip from the CO, I had to place a find on this Virtual.

In town to farewell the last of our local family and stopped off for a quick photo here. Have visited many times on previous visits but no problems to stop in and grab another photo.

We are visiting for a few days and found some new GA caches and this is one TFTC

Almost impossible on week ends and Holidays to take a photo here unless you are very early around 8am or after 5.30pm. Driving into Bundaberg from home (Bargara South) at 8am and no one around so took my photo. Why did I not think about this one for a GCA virtual. Had it in mind for my GC Virtual but I chose Fairymead house instead. TFTVC.
