Description

Mowbray is a suburb of Launceston is the site of Mowbray Racecourse, home of the Launceston Cup. Mowbray also contains the minor suburbs of Mowbray Heights and Vermont. The name "Mowbray" was adopted from an early homestead property formerly located within what is now the Launceston Church Grammar School, it was named and owned by Martin Mowbray Stephenson. The Mowbray Racecourse was a substantial part of this property, and racing meets have been held there from as early as 1830. The name itself stems back to Normandy in France and literally means "mud hill"

Before reaching this cache take care in crossing Eleanor Street.

As we approached this one [in the van] we were abused by a motorist for not putting our indicator on as we pulled up near GZ. As there was no-one in front of us or behind us and he was going the opposite way I'm not sure what his problem was???
So not a good start but at least the cache was an easy find and very close to the parking area.
One of 3 we did in town before starting our bike ride.
Thanks ICYBEETAS.

#GA5701 - 12:20; On a flying visit to Tassie on family business and took the chance to collect some of the local caches while I was passing through. No problems with this one, although the trees have been cut down, the stumps are still there and I was able to locate the cache and add my name to the log. Looks like I'll need a bike from here on! Today Mr T and Mr W (whitewebbs) tackled this trail and thoroughly enjoyed the journey. Loading up the trailer with their pushbikes, Mrs T & Mrs W dropped them off at #56 and collected them 5 hours later in Scottsdale.

Many thanks icybeetas, for placing this cache, the information and research on each cache page was interesting. We appreciate the time and effort gone into creating this trail.

Mr T from Tassie Trekkers and Mr W decided to tackle this well set up series of caches on the NETRTrail. It was a great day to be out riding. The better halves dropped them off at 10.15 at No. 56 and collected them at No. 01 five hours later. The effort in setting this series up is appreciated as well as the information added to each cache page. The well detailed hints were appreciated. Unfortunately the three trunk was cut off at the base but cache was found still at the base. TFTC

We needed our torch to search for this cache as the light had almost gone. Fortunately we were able to find this one quickly.

Thanks for this cache Icybeetas. Just time to look for one more before we head homewards.

Looked for this one on the way to meet up with the CO at #1 of NERT where an epic day was to begin.
It didn't take long to spot the hide in a well hidden spot.
A blank log enabled a FTF.
Many tftc...much appreciated...cheers ST.
