Description
Longford is a town in the northern midlands situated at the convergence of the Macquarie River and the South Esk River, 21 km south of Launceston. It has a population of 3,863 (2016 census) and is part of the Northern Midlands Council area. The region is predominantly agricultural, noted for wool, dairy produce and stock breeding.

Mr T from Tassie Trekkers and Mr W decided to tackle this well set up series of caches on the NETRTrail. It was a great day to be out riding. The better halves dropped them off at 10.15 at No. 56 and collected them at No. 01 five hours later. Today Mr T and Mr W (whitewebbs) tackled this trail and thoroughly enjoyed the journey. Loading up the trailer with their pushbikes, Mrs T & Mrs W dropped them off at #56 and collected them 5 hours later in Scottsdale.

The trail is now heading up towards a saddle in the ridgeline.
Quite steep slopes with large rock outcrops in the topside of tracks.
