Description

Until about 9 years ago this township was called Gregory Downs.  It was named after the large cattle station here that was first started by the Watson brothers.  As well as their cattle property they built the local hotel, a store and later developed this small cemetery. There are only seven well marked graves here and some as new as the early 21st century. The town was renamed Gregory in 2013.

At the given waypoints there is plenty of parking for cars and caravans.  By following the track inside you will be able to find the seven well marked graves. A visit to each of them will earn you the correct coordinates for GZ which is just a short stroll away.

Staying at Four Ways we completed a 650 klm round trip, on a mission to fulfill an LGA requirement.

Stopped here to find your cache. A straightforward multi that was soon solved after gathering the required information to calculate GZ.

Once at GZ some digging was required to reveal the cache. Cache and contents were in good condition.

A rewarding find, with an added bonus of *FTF*

Thanks TG47 for bringing us here and for the cache.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 66. Gregory to Burketown. After a leisurely start for a home cooked breakfast, I tried a new multi in Gregory without luck and then headed off to Burketown. Interesting fact, all three food outlets were closed of without a cook today, so I am gong to have to cook for myself tonight. So much for Sunday dinner out !

I made a few errors, and I think I found at least one error in the listing. When I was happy with numbers that were at least nearby, I went over for a look. I was unable to locate the cache. It seems I may still have an error to deal with. Oh well, maybe I will be back one day, you never know

Thanks
Albida.
