Description

This cache is located the the border crossing. You'll notice a stark contrast between the heavily timbered NSW and QLD's clear hills. Both sides as beautiful as each other. There's a donation box at the crossing, with all proceeds going towards maintenance of the road. It's also made very clear that rabbbits are not allowed to be bought into QLD, with a $40000 fine for anyone who does!

Anastasia rolls in and closes the border during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This border crosssing was closed during the Covid-19 pandemic, forcing people wanting to cross into the other state to use a checkpoint on the Summerland Way.

The box is located just inside the superior state, with room to park close by. You're looking for a regular sized box with swaps and goodies inside.

Logs

I really enjoyed getting to travel this road at last today. It's funny how the road is in such great condition on the Queensland side. Also weird that there is a QLD sign at the border, but not NSW one! There's a pride of Lions up here! And two caches! This one was rather easy to find. A bit harder to remove as it was a little mud-stuck. I managed to pry it free and sign the log book.
Thanks. Smile

Gotcha! Another one in the Lions Road series found. No trouble here for me this time. Coordinates perfect. I was out at Kooralbyn and decided to venture down to this border point to see how the road and bridges handled the recent storms. All appeared okay. While I was at the border I had to do at least a quick search for this as I’ve tried a few times before. A quick find today! Cache and container are in good condition. There’s a GC trad here that I still haven’t looked for. Maybe next time.. that’s how I roll haha. I know I’ll be back here many times this year so there’s no hurry.
Thanks for the cache and series. I’ll aim for another one in the series during a future day out in the area Smile

I was driving past today and thought I better check on this one. It was still in place, starting to get buried under some leaves though. I think maybe my co-ords were off making it more difficult than it should be. I've updated the hide - it's now a different container in a different location (albeit close to where the original stash was)

I had a quick look for this one back in November before I wandered up the beast of a hill to the east. I couldn't find it but knew I would be back passing through again so left it for another day. I didn't log a DNF back then because it wasn't a solid look. Well, today I was driving past heading back into Queensland and even though it was nighttime I decided to grab the torch and try again. Try try try but no find again for me. I have three DNFs in this area that need rectification! *lights a cigar* I'll be back..

Checked on this one today, and found it still in place. Base of tree halfway up the bank.

This was our forth stop for the day and we had no luck here ,the GPS was reluctant to settle and going by the hint we were sure we looked in the right place TFTC
