Description
The Wellington Gateway Sculpture is not your usual welcome sign.
Every element has an important role in the sculpture's symbolic representation of Wellington's character. The skeletal feel refers to the fossils found in Wellington Caves while the wind-chimes symbolise the cave's stalactites. The shape of the tripod conveys both the image of a sunset and that of a pod, which represents the fertility of the surrounding valley. The vines represent growth and the area's vegetation, while the mosaic panels each convey an element of Wellington's history and culture.
To find GZ
Find the name of the metal pieces from the collapse of the 1989 Old Wellington Bridge used to construct the central tripod of the sculpture. Take the first letter of the word then go across the road to find the matching letter. You can check your answer in the geochecker.
The cache is a keycase containing logbook and pencil.

Logs
When we arrived in Wellington we noticed this multi. GA multis are rare so are definitely must do. Quite some years ago we visited this creative area looking for a CG cache. We loved it - so different. We were happy to have a reason to revisit this spot. Mr y'stassie was sure he knew where we should look but Mrs y'stassie had to check to make sure. He was right and mrs y'stassie was soon removing the guardian spiders webs. They were very thick and the guardians have obviously been very busy in the 6 months since the last cacher visited.
Thanks for this cache Geono. A novel multi. The container and contents were in very good condition.

#GA5808 - 3:05:00 PM; Taking the long way to Adelaide from the National Capital with the geohoney and stopped by for a quick visit. Didn't take long to work out what was required, but extra terrain points needed due to the need to clear out the bountiful bunch of spider webs in and near GZ. Looks like a second to find on this one after more than 12 months. Nice to make the find here and add another to the list. TFTC geono.

Hahaha, very clever. I had to pull a tool out of my pocket to help me.
I had a geocache here once. A nano. It's probably still there.... Yep, just found it. I decided to take it with me. I might use it elsewhere soon.
Thanks.
