Gong Gong Reserve - Ballarat...

Gong Gong Reservoir Park is a large and diverse bushland reserve only 10 minutes from Ballarat on the Daylesford Road. When you arrive you will be surrounded by gum trees, native grasses and the sound of Yarrowee Creek giggling along. The park has many self guided walking tracks with information boards along the way to help you learn more about the native wildlife. The criss-crossing tracks and bridges are a wonderland for children as they can follow the gravel paths in safety.

The above is the description from the website. My desciption is that both this area and Kirks Reserve, just over the road, are definitely worth a visit. Neat walking trails, BBQ and picnic tables...and at over at Kirks, loads of green grass to walk on. Worth a visit I think...

As for the cache, it along a walking track in Gong Gong reserve. A 200ml sistema in the top of a stump.

Staying in Ballarat for a few days, geocache took me here. Nice quite place for a walk, cache in good condition and hint is very helpful.

We were in the area so made sure we took the time to search for this cache, a quick find with accurate coordinates and a useful hint. This reserve is lovely, we've visited several times now. TFTC

Had to take a longer than intended detour to reach this one. We have cached in this area some years ago and really enjoy the leaf litter on the forrest floor. Our GPS was jumpy but we quickly located the cache tuckked neatly out of sight. Not sure whether the scrawls in the log were made by cachers or muggles so will only claim first to log.

Thanks for another well hidden cache Sol De Lune. We look forward to a few more GCA hides between Geelong and Adelaide.
