Yes, it's a bit of a shame that so few cachers are visiting the GCA caches around Dunedin. I've had very little time and few opportunities for caching over last few years but when I do get back into it, the GCA caches will be top of my do list.
Almost a year without a visit. I prefer hiding caches on gc.com.au as I find the current gc.com reviewer for our area to be rude and incompetent. But it's hard to maintain enthusiasm for maintaining caches when they simply aren't visited. I cannot understand why more cachers don't use gc.com.au. It is free and does exactly the same as gc.com. Nothing to stop anyone caching across both platforms. I'm particularly pleased with the container for this cache and am disappointed it hasn't been visited more often. Archiving. Container uplifted. I might run the gauntlet of attempting to re-use it for a gc.com hide.
Now that this has been found I can say that this cache was originally submitted to gc.com but was deleted by the reviewer. They later claimed it was a mistake but they had declined, for spurious reasons, the other cache I submitted at the same time so who knows. Thank goodness for gc.com.au.
Another May the fourth cache *FTF* as we pulled into the parking by the rocks. Only one van parked but no one home. Ducked down to have the timely cache in hand. Made for a discrete area for logging and with no TOTT I found fingernail did the trick ok to have the new paper logscroll in hand to sign the first spot. Surprised it was still going! so it must have wery good weather proofing. A few dog walkers came along the track but were unobservant even though one mutt was boosting up the dune further away from us. Usually there is an awkward standoff when loose dogs come across us on the walks and don't respond to their owners. One pair in Arrowtown were going hammer and tongs at each other, whilst their dogs looked on stoopidly wondering what their owners were arguing about. Neither dogs were on leaches but maybe their owners need muzzles.
Good to clean out this stretch of road again as we had logged another premium only cache at the Westwood cemetery. Easy to find not having to enter the gorse hedge where his co'ods were leading us. He needs to maintain his other missing premium only cache. Thanks for this GCA smile FTF U.N.C.L.E. Have a sticker for the fun.
