Description
The Old Butter Factory
This beacon is located close to the old butter factory on the north side of Nimbin. It's now a candle factory, bush theatre and cafe. Well worth checking out if you're in town. The food at the cafe is amazing and the candle factory is quite something. The candles for various hollywood productions are made here - well worth spending some time browsing the factory.
About the beacon: This is a virtual beacon geocache. You'll need to locate the physical beacon at the listed coordinates and scan it with an NFC enabled device. There's no container or physical logbook at the location, just the beacon - hence it being categorised as a virtual beacon. Once you've scanned the the tag, confirm the notification on your phone and you'll see a web browser open up. You'll get a congratulatory message and also see some info that will help you in a quest to locate a mystery cache in Nimbin. You'll be able to add your name and a few words to the beacon's online log. You can optionally add a photo. You can read the other logs from previous finders, just like as if it was a physical logbook. Once found, dont forget to log this cache here on the GCA site to earn your smiley. Some further information here on how an NFC tag works.

I couldn’t find this cache today.. someone replaced the sign with a sexy new one.. how dare they not transfer the tag!
My older sibling is passing through the area and stopped by for a few days. Their one request of me was to take them to Nimbin (they don't have a car). I figured that while they shop, I'll find this postcard series I've wanting to check out for a while.
The last of the beacons in this series for me today led me back to a place I've strapped near a few times and passed but never entered. We checked out the candle shop where I thought the creating section was pretty cool. The hall was open as they were setting up for the Aquarius Festival closing events so I popped in and took a squizz. I like old balls like this - they have interesting things in them abs an old charm about them. Then we wandered around to check out the quirky Cafe outdoor area that I loved. The lighting was cool and it had some interesting wind spinning metal and wire sculptures hanging around. I actually want to make tiny wire sculptures and wind and water moving sculptures, but not like these. These were a little messier than I'd like to make and not really my style. I noted one looked like a female hanging on a rope with a small red stone like a cherry wired in the jewel area/love button/butter bean (fitting name for a butter factory). Clever idea I thought.
