Description

Allsop Park

This beacon is located in Allsop Park, close to the middle of town. There's a few interesting public art displays here, and it conveniently located close to the pub.

About the beacon: This is a virtual beacon geocache. You'll need to locate the physical beacon at the listed coordinates and scan it with an NFC enabled device. There's no container or physical logbook at the location, just the beacon - hence it being categorised as a virtual beacon.  Once you've scanned the the tag, confirm the notification on your phone and you'll see a web browser open up. You'll get a congratulatory message and also see some info that will help you in a quest to locate a mystery cache in Nimbin. You'll be able to add your name and a few words to the beacon's online log. You can optionally add a photo. You can read the other logs from previous finders, just like as if it was a physical logbook. Once found, dont forget to log this cache here on the GCA site to earn your smiley. Some further information here on how an NFC tag works.

My older sibling is passing through the area and stopped by for a few days. Their one request of me was to take them to Nimbin (they don't have a car). I figured that while they shop, I'll find this postcard series I've wanting to check out for a while.

After wandering up and down the main street we cut across through the community hall park to the car and this tag. As we wandered past the rainbow painted hall and a teepee a woman stepped up to the piano under the shelter and started to play and then sing, her friend joining in. It was actually a really beautiful moment. I love the tinny sound of an old piano and being out here in the open, unexpected, and well played made it really special.

On we went to Allsop's Park with its interesting art and sculptures and this tag.

Th second in this series and what good fun and another FTF
