Logs
Being wanting to start completing these for about a year – about a year ago with a couple of hours to spare I completed part of the main trail walk but ran out of time & knowing for me this wasn’t going to be a walk in the park. Well today had the courage & made some spare time to attempted it. Didn’t have in mind which 1 I was going to attempted but had loaded all 21 off as a waypoint. Had loaded the point of side track starting of from main track & glad I did that due to the fact that the first 200 metres this track is challenging to make out where it is. So, cookie crumbled in old gps every 100 metres. Also, along this track I had many troubles locking on to satellite with the smaller gsp today – I’ve had these issues in the past & I believe weather – terrain & maybe being A supermoon at the moment may have caused this but who knowns. So I picked this 1 being closer to the track & a lower terrain rating – well as I said gps’s weren’t playing the game today - & knowing in the past your co-ordinate’s are usually very good & within 5 metres I was having many problems locating GZ – had 2 off printed small photos but next time will print larger. After looking for about 45 minutes & taxing my energy looking, I gave up. By now I was feeling it & knowing I still had to walk back I pulled the pin. Took some photos of what I believed GZ was but looking at larger photo on computer I totally screwed up & on google satellite location was looking in that direction but not far enough. In any case was very happy to locate area of these star searches caches & when I return will have a pain. Many thanks for the HARD walk. Must walk more often now.
