Description

Hyland

Come for the trig, and get this cache thrown in!

This cache requires you to walk through some beautiful cold country rainforest located in Mount Hyland Nature Reserve. The cache is located near the trig, however it is located just outside the Nature Reserve.

Mount Hyland Nature Reserve is part of the Gondwana Rainforests - which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It’s a 3km loop, with a 150m deviation to the trig. There’s an easy path to follow and you can have this walk done and dusted in an hour if you don’t want to muck about.

There would have been some good views from the trig, but most are blocked now due to tree growth. It’s a lovely walk and there’s a National Park visitors book next to the trig too, so don’t forget to sign that while you’re close by.

To find the cache, you’ll walk another 20m or so past the trig, and find the box at the bottom of the largest multi trunked tree. Should be a simple find. There’s a logbook, pencil and some swaps in there.

If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."
