Description

Broadwater Bridge

A cache at a nice spot on the Broadwater Creek. I'd love to set a kayak in here and paddle to Maclean. There can be people camping or relaxing by the river here sometimes, but the cache is located in an area where you should be able to search for it without too much bother. A great spot for a swim in summer, or a picnic any any time of the year.

The box is a regular sized container with logbook, pencil and swaps.

The sides of the road on the approach to the bridge have been cleared lately so parking was good. After reading the plaque, we managed a nice quick find of the well stocked cache.

Thanks for the cache!

Found the white rabbit, signed and replaced. TFTC

This was my last geocache stop on my way home from spending time down south. You know how people say someones packed everything to go camping but the kitchen sink? Well a few clicks from here I passed some folks with boat in tow and what looked like camping gear in the 4WD tray that reminded me of that saying... They had an upside-down Hills Hoist on the roof! Seriously! Whilst I may have been able to pass underneath it along the narrow dirt road, I pulled over to let them by as they may have knocked the other side on trees if they tried moving over. To be honest, when I rounded the bend and saw it, I actually stopped in my tracks and took a moment to register what I was seeing and what I should do. haha.

Pulling up at the site of this cache, I was taken by it. It was a broader creek than I was expecting, even though the name suggested it might be. There was no human noise bar my breathing and footsteps, the water was mirror finished, and the melaleuca on the waters edge were in blossom. I had to try capturing a piece of it in a photo. I took the white rabbit from the cache so I could have fun with it at the next fire-pit night at home, and replaced it with a few pendants/charms, but you know, I think I left it sitting near the cache. Oh well.

The sun was getting awfully close to the horizon so I hit the road again, pausing for a muffin, coffee and chocolate at Whiporie to help me stay awake a little longer. I was only going to buy one, but there were so many flavours I wanted to try so I bought 5 to try out over the next couple of days. I only had one left by the time I got home. haha.

Staying at Grafton for a couple of days, we have been exploring the area and today this cache was in our target zone.

We made a quick find at GZ and with no other logs in the book we will claim *FTF* @ 10.30hrs.

Many thanks MattyRx for placing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience today Very Happy
