Description

This cache has been hidden as part of the Mid-Year Mystery Madness Months' game which runs from 1st June to the 31st July 2023

circus is a company of performers who put on diverse entertainment shows

The term Circus also describes the performance which has followed various formats through its 250-year modern history

As a child, our family always went to the circus when it came to the local area

A variety of animals were used in acts:

Big cats ( the lion, tiger and leopard), Camels, Elephant, Horses, Donkeys, Bears, Monkeys and Dogs

Other acts included Clowns, Acrobats, trapeze acts, musicians, Dancers, Jugglers, magicians, unicyclists and ventriloquists

Outside the big top, side shows were used to entertain the crowd:

Games, Food stores, Fortune tellers and rides

Although not the inventor of the medium, Philip Astley is credited as the father of the modern circus

Today, most circuses DO NOT have the exotic animals and use Human and Instrumental performances

Most circuses perform under the big top:

With either one, two or three performing "stages" known as RINGs.

The cache is not at the given co-ordinates but can be found at:

A clever puzzle, I enjoyed this. Solved for the MMMM, thanks OldSaint.

Found while on a trip down this way with Goose, even spotted OS and NE caches which was a bonus!

After a bright and early start to have an onslaught on some southern caches we left well before daylight negotiating the fog, icy conditions and the odd slow driver to make our way to sorell after grabbing some caches there we made our way down towards Port Arthur to find most of the caches in the area, the view from the Eaglehawk lookout was brilliant. Met up with Oldsaint near the golf course where he needed assistance to turn the hazards off on his Ranger. At the second last cache in the area we meet up with Goose and Stainless Steel Rat, after a catch up and discussing some caching we headed off for seven mile beach where we located all but one of the caches we had targeted in the area.
then continued onwards to Sanford to find the rest of Whitewebbs MMMM games caches and a few others that were close by. Needing to be in New Town at 5 to pick up a heater we stopped in at Rosny Hill to grab the caches there to fill in some time, all were located and solved. After loading the heater onto my ute we decided that was enough caching for the day and headed back north arriving home around 10pm.

With the CO showing us where to park for this one he decided to tag along and watch us find this one, as we approached we found Goose and SSR just about to look for the cache, we made the find as a group with the picturesque view in the background. Had a catch up back at the cars kind of like a mini event. TFTC

As our onslaught on the south begins, we started early from the north and made our way south for the day. Great day for caching in Tasmania.

It is time to go bashing around the Tasman peninsula, with the CO handy on the phone albeit with a migraine, all to eager to assist where possible. Straight forward find now onto the next one. TFTC Clan Cerberus

As SSR and I approached this cache we heard voices. We soon made out the COs voice and he had Trimbletas and DEZ055 with him. We made the find together then reassembled back at the cars for a chat. Nice to catch up with everyone, with 5 teams it was teams a mini event.
Thanks OldSaint

While doing an initial scan of the cache page we spotted something of interest that enabled us to make a quick solve of the puzzle. Today was the day to look for the container.

When we arrived above GZ we initially thought it waould be a difficult walk down however, on closer inspection we noticed a little track and found it led us to the hide. We soon had the container in hand and the log signed. We returned the cache to its secure hide and covered it as found.

Thanks for another MMMM puzzle Old Saint. Great view across the bay from this hide.

A photo of our log entry has been added to the gallery.

FTF @ 11.25 am Another great puzzle we enjoyed solving. Today we decided to head out to find the 3 new caches in the area. The rain held off as we headed to GZ but there were whitecaps on the bay. TFTP
