Description
I've Cached Everywhere, Man - GCA Geocache Series |
Tamborine
Two
I've Cached Everywhere, Man is the largest cache series hidden in Australia. It is made up of the locations made famous by Lucky Star in the song "I've been everywhere" in 1962, lyrics by Geoff Mack. Tamborine is mentioned in the second verse.
Pretty much 12 years ago to the day, my then 6 year old son and I hid the first Tamborine ICEM cache down the road just a short way away. I've driven past hundreds of times now, but have never stopped to check on it, the occasional log verifying that everything is OK.
Today he’s 18 and living close by, so we decided to catch up at the Bearded Dragon for a late Father’s Day lunch. I’d made good time so decided to check on the cache we’d hidden 12 years prior, and sure enough, everything is where it should be. Not the best place for a hide these days, but it was OK 12 years ago.
I had another cache in the car so decided Tamborine could well do with another ICEM, right out the front of our favourite local venue. Lets see if this one can last as long as the other, and is still in play when my son turns 30.
The venue is a great place to stop, the kitchens always open, the beer is always cold and the grounds are fantastic for the family. And now there’s a cache only a short walk away.
You’re looking for a PVC style hide, attached to the fence. It’s only small, so only has a logbook and pencil inside.
