Description

Another hide on the mighty Mersey River. This is a little different to the last few as we need to keep you thinking and moving. There is pleaty of parking on either side of the river so there is no need to park on the edge of the road. There are no hints required, we are sure a keen Geocacher with long arms will get this easily. Have fun and keep on hiding for all our enjoyment.

Logs

It's May-ntenance Month and the Geocaching Ausralia admins are reviewing caches with a string of DNF's. Unfortunately this is one of them.

We're archiving this cache as it appears to be missing. If it reappears or is replaced by the cache owner it can be ressurected by logging an "unarchived" against it.

No luck today, thinking it may have been swept away with the floods.

had a good look but no joy today

09-May-14
Was a bit uncomfortable with this one after seeing the signs on the gates but we had a good look while the cows kept an eye on us and came up empty handed.

Found by mr sharnie's tribe while I called suggestions. Wouldn't have tried this one if the cows were still in the paddock, plenty of evidence that they'd been about fairly recently though. Also didn't notice the sign on the fence until getting back into the geomobile - no progress past this point without permission. OOOps! TFTC

Hi landy_clan
Today was the first day of a two caching expedition with Budgietas and Cheesy Pigs. The day was fine and just what you want for caching.
Left Huonville at 0700hrs, met up with the two other finders and left for Launceston about 0900hrs. Got back to Huonville on the first of November at 2340hrs. A great trip; first day excellent and was topped off with an event and caching to mid-night after. Crashed for the night down near the airport.

This cache was my 18th find for the day:
A small cruise from Railton soon had us at ground zero and the search was on. I had looked for this cache once before but had no success on that occasion. With a little help from my fellow cachers, the result was different this time. A find!
The cache to hand, the log signed and container returned to its hide at 1505hrs. Thanks for letting me that I'm a short arse 'cos ......
From here it was off to "A Crafty Troll."

This days caching produced fourty-one finds for me, eclipsing my previous best finds for a day by twelve finds, total of forty-one for the trip so far. I think Cheesy beat his previous best too.

Thanks for the cache;
Cheers OldSaint.

Didn't go right under, I wonder if I should have? Decided that perhaps it had gone from a spot I looked at, but now wonder if it was somewhere else and I just didn't find it. Either way, I didn't find it! Thanks, seems like I should come back for a more prolonged search.

Hoping no one minds crossing the fence....found reasonably quick..thought it might be hiding somewhere like that Wink

Great hide, we had some hesitation in going where the cache was, but retrieved it with long arms!!

18-Feb-11
Unable to locate this one

18-Feb-11
Not much luck with this one, no cows in sight but barb wire fence looks as though it's just been replaced after the flooding in the area.

11-Feb-11
A pleasant stroll across the bridge and a judicious choice between the fences to cross soon had this cache in hand. Like all of the Landy caches so far it has involved a small adventure to find......
Thanks Landyfor another fun cache to find after work.

First, we worked out where to park that didn't involve walking alongside the busy road in the hot sun. Having achieved this, we considered our approach to the cache. There was a right way and a wrong way, and the wrong way didn't look too promising, so we went the more obvious route. A bunch of muggle cows were guarding GZ and giving us suspicious looks and at times verbally complaining, but soon got bored and wandered off, allowing us access to the cache.

The cache was somewhat tricky to get to and I had my doubts about it at first, but exploration paid off. I had brought a pair of long arms with me, but managed to reach it-- and put it back-- on my ownsome. Yay! Dancing

A fun and interesting cache. Thanks, Landy_clan!

A quick find by Mr B in a place Mrs B had already searched. Thanks.

The rain today forced a change of plans so we went looking for this one. Was the best type of hide to be looking for in the rain Laughing
Wasn't that difficult - just a matter of eliminating possibilities. TFTC.

No poem today - just happy to finally log this cache.

Went hunting with UncleTom, and this time we found it. I must have looked straight past it last time.

Thanks Landyclan.

Left Hobart at 5am to do a 9hr walk at Freycinet but due to the appalling weather I somehow ended up caching at Latrobe Surprised
Nothing like a drive around Tassie to fill in a day Dancing

was a tricky one but possible for true thinkers, also droped off a travel bug

A very good hide. Coordinates were spot on but even then, some hunting was required before the cache was in hand. Log signed at 13:50. Claim FTF. TFTC
