Description

Bunjil

Come and visit Bunjil the Eagle and find a Cacheopoly geocache from caughtatwork.

The stone sculpture commemorates the indigenous Creator Spirit, Bunjil and the Wathaurong Aboriginal people.  The sculpture is in the shape of a wedged-tail egale.  Traditionally, Bunjil formed all the natural features of the land, its animals, plants and people.   Bunjil also bestowed the laws and traditions of the Wathaurong people

Take a stroll down Branding Yard Rd, accessed via the pseudo-carpark at the end of Toynes Rd and you will easily come across this 200ml sistema container.

This cache was hidden for the 2023 Summer Cacheopoly Game at Geocaching Australia https://geocaching.com.au/dragonzone/game/cacheopoly

snake skin still there, a fun nature find!

Before she started her search Mrs y'stassie spent some time standing back admiring this impressive piece of art work. She then slowly did a circuit of the area. One her second circuit she spotted the clever hide and almost had her hand on the container when something papery touched her hand. She snatxched her hand out and peered downwards. When her eyes fully focussed she saw that the rainbow serpent had recently inspected this site and had left part of his skin behind. Some of this was firmly attached to the cache container while the rest lies in the grass nearby. After satisfying herself that reptile was no longer present she carefully removed the container and signed the log. The container was carefully returned to its place beside the rest of the skin.

Thanks for this cache caughtatwork. This is truly a magic place. A photo showing the source of Mrs y'stassie's elevated heart rate has been added.

This was my turnaround point on today's tour-de-FTF. Laughing It had me going for a few minutes, even with a squiz at the hint Embarassed, but eventually I spotted what I needed to see and that had me signing the log at 18:45 for our 76th GCA FTF and our 148th overall. DancingDancingDancing
