Description
Belongil Beach
A small cache hidden at a nice beach in Byron Bay. The dog friendly part of the beach starts here, so you can bring your canine along for some exercise. To find the cache, you'll have to be naughty and jump a small fence (not difficult) and search under the north west corner of the structure. Muggles might make this cache more difficult to find in holiday season. You'll see the box quite easily and dont need to climb under the structure - just squat down beside it. It's hard to find a secure place to hide a box in Byron Bay!
Logs
FTF! I'm kind of not surprised, but also am.
I forgot there was a new cache in Byron till looking at nearby caches this week. I had an appointment in Bangalow and wanted to drop into Byron whilst there for a ceramics pop-up shop (I'd been patiently waiting for this weekend just to buy a couple of topographic lined cups from Big Gork), a walk to the east of Oz at low tide, visit the lighthouse (one of my fave sit spots in Oz), and make a cache hide or two. Obviously, realising this week that this was here to be found still, I had it on the list also.
Alas, the coords had me in someone's yard. The idea of stepping over their high fence seemed a little odd, so I put my brain into action and figured I might know where to find the cache. And viola! A bit like a mystery cache really. Haha. The coords where I found the treasure is S28° 37.912' E153° 35.845' which was about 140m away from the given coords.
All is in good order. I was sprung by a muggle who asked me if I had a geocache. They'd been a geocacher many years ago. Judging by their age I'd say it was when they were a kid.
Thanks for the cache and a beautiful spot to sit and write this log. Beautiful day for it too.
Can't add emojis of cake or steamers, but would if I could.
