Description
This cache is NOT at the listed coordinates, but it is nearby.
If you are at the listed coordinates then you are at the remains of an old stone hut, built in the early 1900s by a person locally known as 'John the Russian' or 'John the Austrian'. Arriving in the Redlands early in the 20th century 'John the Russian/Austrian' was an itinerant who travelled around pushing a wheelbarrow containing supplies. He worked as a fruit picker in the orchards around Redland Bay and built this stone hut where he stayed for an indefinite period before moving on again. He spent his last days at the Dunwich Benevolent Asylum, and is thought to have been buried in Dunwich Cemetery. Fires, falling trees and vandals have taken their toll on the walls of the hut since its abandonment, with only the lower parts of the walls existing today. You can see bullet holes in what was the stove plate where someone used it for target practice. The walls are made mainly of local stone and mud mortar. Some bricks were used in places, but these would have been brought in from elsewhere, quite possibly miles away. What isn't miles away is the large geocache you seek...
John hid a geocache. A large ammo can.
Decypher John's notes to find the prize.
Inside is a gift for the first to find,
a Geocaching Australia First To Find pathtag.

Itinerant? Tramp? Some say yes. I believe there is more to 'John the Russian/Austrian' than a simple label. Visit this location to see where this once interesting character dwelled.

Logs
Admittedly, I would not be aware of this geocache if it wasn't the for eagle-eyed Crew 153. I had told my friends I was in the area - and Crew 153 mentioned this cache.
Solving this puzzle was none too difficult. Even 13 year old Fangsoki could have solved this one
Having a day off, I decided to go on back down to visit the Stone Hunt.
I parked up in the familiar area and made my way through tracks... to find a guy.. and two girls.. playing sword fights with sticks. Well I've seen weirder things. I acknowledged them and moved on.. whatever trevor.
I soon pulled up at the familiar area. I soon found a very well-hidden and handsomely-sized prize. I signed the *FTF* log at 10:28am. Thank you, Wayn0, for the little prize. I re-hid everything as found and made my way out of the area.
A great little excuse to visit the area again. TFTC Wayn0
