Description
Gno-mad
Gno-mad is one of the larger entries in the 2010-11 GeGnome project, so think carefully about where you want to hide him. I liked the play on words, since the frantic pace at work hrecently, and it sounds a bit like 'gone-mad', Also, since these cache gnomes are travelers, they live a gnomadic lifestyle. Hopefully he will continue to travel and explore the world, bringing delight to geocachers everywhere.
Thanks to everyone who has helped move him, especially Tronador - he has now managed to make his way to a (muggle) friend's place, who I am trying to get into caching.
Having travelled from Canberra to Sydney and back, Gno-mad's owner is about to move to Sydney and so Gno-mad would like to head back up the Hume. If he could eventually get to the Concord area, that would be even better.

Logs
The owner can re-enable this cache by checking that it is actually there then posting a 'published' log.
I am afraid that he has gone missing. Apologies for the mishap.
Who knows where he will turn up next.
I think he'll be quickly moved on to . . . Clwydd!
Gno-mad seemed to have 'gone bush' around here, but by listening carefully, we could hear someone humming a very famous song by the 'The Village People' . . .
Could it have been Gno-mad?
Whatever the case, a bit more searching made all the difference.
Think I'll take Gno-mad up to the Blue Mountains for a bit of fresh air and the standard alpine experience.
And that would be me rogerw3 is referring to. I told Gnomad to mind the frogs and the big bad wind blew him right off the table. Honest!!!
It was pitiful, a grown Gnome begging and crying not to be taken to the "Mean, bad, cruel Lady who threw him to the ground in a fit of temper!" I spent some time explaining to him that it was all an accident and that the Lady in question was in fact a "Nice, bad, cruel lady" hold on that does not sound right.
In the end he agreed to hide under the tree to see what the lay of the land looked like, please be kind and gentle with him he is still suffering from the trauma of the "accident".
'Gno-mad' is ready to be discharged from the Clwydd Hospital and is eager to get back to traveling. He will no doubt be on his way first thing tomorrow morning.
Justin
The world renowned surgical team is being assembled and will begin the long and arduous task very soon.
Lots and lots and lots of Leapfrogs and gnomes in attendance! It turned out to be a great day for all Leapfrog and Gnome lovers, a great event with great people attending, we all had a ball.
Unfortunately Gno-mad had an accident at the event and is now in dire need of medical help, he has been given transport to the Clwydd Hospital where his grievous injuries will be treated. We all hope that he will be back in action soon.
Thanks to Zal for making it all happen!(Not the accident, the event!)
Lots and lots and lots of Leap Frogs and gnomes in attendance!
Thanks to Zal for making it all happen!
PS - There may be a FTF Froggy waiting too!
I sure looked a sight walking down the street with a huge gnome under one arm and a crocodile under the other!?!
But beware do not let them have Cappuccinos or you will regret it, you have been warned.
Where will he actually go?
Watch this space!
And I'm happy to do my part.
Good luck, Gno-mad!
Don't go looking for him, the location of the Holiday Resort is Top Secret, so you won't find him at the co-ords.
Logged him at the GLF/GFF GCA Gnome event at Mt. Victoria in the Blue Mountains, and left him in the capable hands of rogerw3.
Thanks for the gnome JustinCBR
Thanks for the gnome.
Thanks JustinCBR.
Parked the car and started up the familiar walk up the road. Soon came to this second colourful gnome for a quick find.
TFTC !!
Left gnome in same place - did not move
Found this one plus a couple of others in the area before heading off further a field.

I put this gnome next to an interesting old ruin near the railway line.
Looks like a couple of gnomes may have followed us home and there locations will be updated soon.
Thankyou to the organisers and who ever gave this little guy a lift. Looking forward to the next event.
Congratulations to all gnomes who survived the rigours of the recent competition and our condolences to the owners of those who suffered injuries and/damage or who were finally declared 'missing in action' . . .
This gnome can now take a well-deserved break, doing whatever it is that gnomes do when they take well-deserved break . . .
We held a ballot to see who would go home in which car and Gno-mad agreed to take tronador as he'd had such a good time with her before.
Once I stopped looking for palm trees and white posts, it was a whole lot easier! Gno-mad was lying there looking up at the treetops and sky when I poked my head over the top of the ferns. He didn't really want to be disturbed but as soon as I mentioned the party tomorrow, he leapt up and started jogging up the road!
So the co ords may be correct but the hint is not. Maybe the gnome owner can fix up the hint. Gno-mad really needs to join us at the party on Saturday.
Gno-mad is laying in the open, between two logs, slightly up-hill from the lower path. From the path, climb up some rocks, a few meters before the path detours around some other rocks. Once you get up to the next level/terrace, there should be another terrace of rocks. About a metro before you get there, look down, between the logs running parallel to the 'rock face' if you can call it that. He is not covered, so his bright red hat should be visible if you are looking down.
If he hasn't been found, I will come and double check coords and relocate when I am back in Sydney in a few weeks.
After at least half an hour, I could find absolutely nothing that seemed to help. There were no white posts at all anywhere along the path, the road or the picnicn areas and no palm trees at all anywhere within 500m of the co-ords.
Give up on the hint and focus on the gps again.
I decided to do a grid search of the hillside where GZ was and, although the gps could not get a fix closer than 5-8 metres, I had a good clamber around looking in all the gnomey sort of spots. There was a good hollow log but the only thing I found were some empty drink cans. I also peered under a heap of rocks and must have found about 8-10 water dragons all over the place. After an hour I gave up, very hot and thirsty.
I really, really need a better hint to find this I'm afraid
edit: it has since come to my attention that I should not have dropped Gno-mad off where I did - different rules in NSW to the ACT. Hopefully, as a movable, there will only be one visit and no damage to the vegetation and he can be moved to somewhere permissible.
He's going to check out the GF's house to convince her, that gnomes are fantastic creatures and that she should come and join in the fun.
All 4 gnomes are now spending a relaxing night at my place.
First along the track is this guy. Look for a DMR survey mark and go to the rock overhang.
