Description
Logs
I'm in Canberra for the June long weekend and of course Geocaching will be apart of it. I picked a couple of areas around that I wanted to find caches at. However, I certainly didn't get to all of them BUT I did find caches else where. I found a mixture of both GC and GA and various different cache types. I visited many places I didn't know about which was full of history, fun and unique scenery. This was one of the many caches I visited and may/may-not have found sometime over the weekend. It was a fun weekend meeting up with friends and caching as much as possible. If I found the cache, a TB visit has been placed on the cache page. I would like to thank all CO's of the caches I found and for allowing them to me and the caching community enjoyment. TFTC's
Thank goodness for GCA caches. I came out today with the aim of grabbing a GC multi and a GC Mystery. However I threw this one in for good luck. Just as well I did or I would have gone home with a very heavy heart as I didn't find the other two. There were so many cache guardians here that I was really challenged while retrieving and replacing the cache. TFTC HardcoreHarris TNLN SL

Found this cache on the way to, at or on the way home from the Mega at Clearwaters. My trip to the Mega was great, found lab caches which while like gadgets are new icons to me. Found some great caches and brought back some neat ideas for new caches in Tasmania.

2 Day 3 AND DAY 4 we stayed in Dubbo. Day 5 we stayed in Shepparton. Day 6 and Day 7 we were staying with relatives in Bendigo. Day 8 we travelled to Canberra where we will stay for Day 8 Day 9 Day 10 Day 11 and head to Alexander on Day 12. Today is time to spend caching in Canberra. Next on the list. I eventually found a spot to park about 60 meters from GZ. Old maps in my Magellan. Short walk through the park around the dog leg and saw the Green Brick Wall. Walked up to it and following the information supplied in the Hints soon had the cache in hand. Quick find. Signed the log and returned to spot found and covered. Walked back to the geo mobile and onto the next cache. TFTC HardcoreHarris.

A quick park and find not far from where we stayed for the weekend before leaving town for the trip back to Sydney.
If my maths is right this will be my 25th dragon zone find

Came home from work to find the Ridgeo-pup dancing like no one was watching in the back-yard.
She was just having a little frolic on her own . She didn't notice I was there and had a big smile on her face. What a joy!
Then the two of us stepped out for a quick cache.
The container was rusted closed and required a tool to prize it open but the contents are dry and in good nick.
Thanks for the cache HardcoreHarris

Found on a cache run thru Queanbeyan picking up the new caches in parks. I saw this one nearby and made a quick grab. Cache and bag a bit wet but the LB was still dry. TFTC

#GA683 - 18:15; Out for an afternoon caching run and decided to give Mount Jerrabomberra a try. After collecting a few caches on the Mount, I decided to drop by this one on the way home again. It was dark by now, so parked the geomobile a little further waay that I really needed to, but made my way to GZ for a quick find and sign. TFTC HardcoreHarris

Easily found, but this cache needed some TLC, which we have now given it. All new and fresh again . TFTC HardcoreHarris.

We found the mouldy log in a lolly wrapper, inside a fast crumbling plastic container . Decrypter went back to the car to fetch a minty tin, while I ferreted out a new log and two plastic sealed bags from my geo-kit. There is now a new log inside a small sealed plastic bag in a minty tin, and that is inside another sealed plastic bag. I hope this all stays dry. It's now back in its hide . We took the old pieces of plastic, that once were a cache, the lolly wrapper and mouldy log away to dispose of them. All good again . TFTC HardcoreHarris.

I was visiting Blackall Park for the GC cache and remembered that this one was here too. All of about 16 metres away!. So I wondered over to this one and found a very brittle and broken container, the old log book and a geocaching note. (See pic) So I added my name to the piece of paper enclosed and headed over to the GC cache.
I did ponder if I should pick it up/ remove the rubbish or leave it there. I decided to leave it there but it could sure do with some TLC or even put out of its misery.

Just adding a 'needs maintenance' log to this cache, as it's in a pretty sorry state and could do with some TLC.
Found at 1820. I've been eyeing this one off for quite a while, but unfortunately GCA caches weren't really great for spontaneous searching until the Android app came out. I was in the area hunting for one of those 'other' caches and decided the time was ripe to tick this one off the list.
Looks like I should've done it when I first started caching - it was a simple enough find, but the container was missing its lid and partly full of caked mud, and the log was a sodden mess. I was able to dislodge the mud, but there was nothing I could do about the log so I signed and added a new slip of paper to the log bag and left the papier mache in the container. I then hunted around for something that might act as a lid - I managed to find an old snack food wrapper and crumbly polystyrene to stuff it with which will hopefully form a plug of sorts.
This was an amazingly hidden park - I drove past the road to it 3 times before I realised where it was, and the playground equipment was a complete surprise - this'd be a great place to let the kids run riot, if I had any!
Shame about the cache though - from previous logs it looks like it's been in this sorry state for over a year, so I doubt the owner will be performing maintenance any time soon - it might be time for this one to go to the great Archive in the sky...

Found on our VIC and NSW east coast adventure on our last leg now.
Just a quick trip around the local area to grab a few caches.
Nice and quiet and no muggles around.
Another quick stop and find and then on to the next one.
Thanks for the cache HardcoreHarris,
Roostaman.

It didn't take us very long to find a way to access the area where the cache was hidden. Our GPS units showed that GZ was about 7m from where the cache was found - the hint was a great help in locating the cache. Unfortuantely the cache container did not have a lid or cover and the contents were absolutely saturated. All we could do was to dispose of the sodden logbook. We then replaced it with one of our temporary logbooks in its own sealable plastic bag. However, there is an urgent need to replace or repair the container. TFTC
Cache is soaking wet inside and out. Added dry slip of paper with our log but dont think it will last long in these rains. Perhaps a drier container is needed here? Maybe a multi-vitamin bottle or something with a screw top? TFTC

GCA 489 - 4921. A quick grab at lunchtime today..
Once I found how to get to the park it was a quick easy find - because it was out in the open with a soaked log. I placed a piece of paper in it but the cache needs some maintenance. Thanks HardcoreHarris !!

Parked in a nearby street and was a bit puzzled on how to get to this park, really quite hidden away. Find was easy, cache was out in the open with the lid open...luckily log wasn't too sodden. Replaced where it was meant to be. Thanks.

453. Managed to slip away from an expedition to Spotlight to grab this cache I made the co-ords a fair way out but found easily nonetheless. Great walk down the cypress lined walk and would have liked to try the road but had to get back....Argh - not finished shopping yet.

There was a bloke with his kid & dog so close to GZ that we didn't bother searching.
A trip home via Queanbeyan meant a quick stop and grab here. Log is a little wet, but not to bad.
Thanks for showing off the area.

A quick find in a very strange park. One truly for the locals. You'd never know it was there but for the overhead view of google maps.

I had to walk around the block for a young family to head off before I could make the quick grab. Thanks. Albida.
A quick find on my way to a Christmas lunch in Queanbeyan, area deserted (heavy rain!), so an easy muggle free find. Thanks.
A quick find with Just a Cacher on the way to work this morning. We managed to avoid getting wet as we made our dash to GZ and the quick cache retrieval. Thanks HardcoreHarris for the cache

A joint *FTF* with Black Bunny on the way to town this morning. The storm made a great backdrop to the short stroll in the park and the quick find. SL Thanks HardcoreHarris for your first cache.
