Description

The arm of a moveable Garden Gnome, trying to find its body!

On 25 January, I found "Shadow Gnome", GA2997. It was dark when I was retrieving him from his hidey-hole, and I had been spotted picking him up by a passing car, so I threw him in the back of the car and quickly drove off. I was keen to keep the gnome on the move, so decided to re-hide him on the way home.

The following afternoon, I noticed a small black and gold object on the floor of my car... it was Shadow's arm, which must have broken off when I dropped him in the car. And to complicate matters, Shadow had already been found and moved from where I hid him!

This moveable cache is an emergency gnome limb delivery service. Its objective is to meet up again with GA2997, wherever that may be, so the limb and body can be reunited. I have included a tube of super glue and a couple of bandaids in the cache to help with reassembly. It's all in a 200ml Sistema container.

Please move this cache in the general direction of Shadow, and register the new coordinates in your "Moved" log. Please include a generous hint to help the next finder.

Photos of any successful surgery would be appreciated here!

Mission accomplished.

TaylorBrats: Please keep or re-use the container for another cache. Consider it a FTF prize!

I'm happy to return it to you, or keep the tube of superglue moving along - your call!

Probably easiest if you email me - [email protected]

Don't suppose you've found another small square of plaster in your car boot, have you? He's still missing a small section...

Congratulations TaylorBrats on the find, and great to see Shadow repaired.

Do you want to rehide this moveable, or are you happy for me to archive it now? You are welcome to keep the container or reuse it for a new cache if you wish. Smile

Phew! Found this 'urgent' cache (and managed to locate the patient) in time to reattach the limb!
Bought him home to perform the 'surgery', and he'll be in for observation at least overnight.
If the heat isn't too severe, we'll see if we can get him back on his feet, and ready for more adventures in the morning.
Unfortunately Shadow will be left with a scar to encircle his arm, and one fairly deep scar that goes all the way through the outer 'dermis', to reveal what lies beneath. Confused The Bandaids will hide all that...

ps - It's amazing what a difference one digit can make in a set of co-ords. For instance, typing a '2' instead of the required '3', can have you a few kilometres away from a severed limb, and smack bang in the middle of a cemetary full of spiderwebs. Not fun. Especially at 1am... Got there in the end tho!

pps - Loved the care taken in preparing this one!

ppps - another FTF!! on a roll Very Happy
