#GA1289 - 18:00; Day 2 of a Sydney caching mission with Sol de lune. Just made it to the park right on closing time, but parked the geomobile and made the find quickly. Log signed, cache returned and we were on our way, making it out before the gates were locked for the day. TFTC NazzoR Very HappyClan Cerberus

Got it this time....

Having DNF's this one about 18 months ago, I was keen to grab on this trip with LuckyL10n. Turns out it was (really) in the first placed I look. Couldn't believe my luck, but we quickly signed the log, took a photo and returned the cache to the hiding spot so we could get out of the park before the gates closed......

Thanks nazzor....nice to cross this one off the list

Cache 3 on my first day of Geosportz. The area looked like it could have been cleared but there was one attractive spot I checked carefully and uncovered the old jar. Nature had done its best to conceal it but there it was, patiently waiting and 12 months unloved. The log was a bit damp and rusty and the bag was torn so I gave the log a well-earned rest in some warm, air-conditioned, dry air and renewed the the bag after signing.
Thanks NazzoR, a welcome find.

Nope, go for me. Was getting late and the gates were closed so I had to walk in...but it beat me today. Hopefully next time.

Thanks anyway....

Great to see a nice GA cache here. This has always been one of my favorite bits of bushland and it's in good condition. Thanks NazzoR

An easy walk to GZ from the Bus stop, the cache was soon in hand after a bit of looking around.
Very quiet today so I had the place pretty much to myself.
Cache is OK even if a little bit damp.
Thank you for the cache and nice park.

Decided to hit the Cumberland State Forest caches this afternoon before progressing further west. Despite the beautiful weather the forest was quite quiet today with only one bunch of picnickers in this particular ground, and seated well away from the cache. Headed down and the cache was there in the first spot I checked, still in good condition though the log has obviously been wet at some stage. Probably need to spend some more time exploring the trails here, thanks NazzoR.

I had an opportunity to search for the CO's new GC caches in the forest, and when I arrived remembered that this cache was here too; I've been to the park many times, but have never had an opportunity to search for it.

It had been raining all day, and was still drizzling, so the park was fairly empty. I had the geopups with me, so tied them to a nearby tree to allow me to search in peace. The phone wasn't settling well, and after searching in a few different places I eventually narrowed in on GZ - as is often the way, it was the first place I had looked, but I had missed the container the first time round due to the leaf cover that had accumulated over the 7 months since the last find. I hope that isn't the only find for this cache for the year, given its find rate in previous years.

While I was signing the log a park ranger drove up and asked what I was doing. I explained caching, and he seemed satisfied, so I completed the signing duties, replaced the container and then continued on my way. Thanks for the (all-too-rare GCA) cache!

Another 9 months of leaf litter covering this but it was soon moved and the cache found.

Wow, over a year with no finds! Took me a while to locate, in part because of all the accumulated leaf litter and bark covering the cache. Log is rather damp, but ok. Had never been to this park before. Thanks NazzoR.

I approached this cache in the late afternoon on a damp Autumn day. My eTrex was telling me 20m to go whilst my Android phone pointed straight at the cache, down to 3m. I stuck my hand in and there it was for an immediate find. TNLN SL TFTC!

Found after a quick search. Took 2 TBs, TFTC!

Being quite familiar with this forest I knew exactly what section to look in. On my way to the nursery this was literally on the way. Nice hide and a very pleasant location. Not realising this was listed on GCA I dropped 2 TB's which I can't "drop" into the cache. BUT King of the Road TB and my Catch Me If You Can TB are in this cache and now looking for a ride.
Only one other muggle family nearby but I amused my self by talking to a very tame magpie. The muggles soon grew tired of watching me.

So I guess I'm not always the FTF then. Didn't see this one until today, so drove past on the way to work. Pretty close to home actually. Parked in the car park and made my way to gz. Lucky the hard work had been done, as gps was only 4m out. Close enough to put my fingers in the cache fairly quickly. Sometimes it pays to wait... Laughing So SL at TFT, and returned. TFTC. This is always a nice place to come to visit and walk around. BTW, Hey Yurt, Here I am! Dancing

A race for a GCA cache! No alfyboy spotted though.
I headed out this morning, didn't contemplate the midnight run when it was published so took a sedate drive to the Cumberland State Forest where I've had many a nice walk and picnic over the years and bought a few plants from their nursery.
In the car park there was a Subaru (not the GeoBuru as it turned out) with a guy working on his laptop. Up in the picnic area another bloke lazed in a deckchair (!) - I guess cruises aren't for everyone.

Saw where the brush turkeys had been through although I suspected another species at the time - Geocachus extremis but I found out later it actually WAS the turkeys! A quick SMS to pjmpjm confirmed that the cache was not exactly close to GZ but a decent distance away so I moved outwards making the find some 28 metres away. Those iPhones don't have the best GPS receivers in the world (if that's what was used). Anyway I had better luck at the coordinates I've listed, similar to pjmpjm's.

Very pleased to see a new player in GCA and to have a cache here where it is deserved. Just need to update the coordinates.
Thanks!

I saw this rare new GCA traditional pop up on the computer screen before I left the upper Blue Mountains late last night to return to work in Dural. I somehow resisted the strong FTF urge to begin a search as I drove down Castle Hill Road at 1am!

And it's just as well I did. This morning I had to undertake quite a wide search before I found the little yellow-brown container about 25 metres from the published coordinates. The hide itself is pretty straightforward but it took a while for my widening spiral to reach that area.

(I'll include my suggested corrected coordinates, for what they're worth.)

When I arrived at the special 'Bush Tucker' area of Cumberland State Forest, I encountered two brush turkeys scratching away at what I thought was GZ, trying take advantage of the local bush tucker. They weren't happy to have competition but finally left me alone.

Two muggles also sat on the nearby picnic area benches, one working on his laptop. I decided to take no notice of them and they ignored me as well!

I was almost ready to give up when I spied the cache, in good condition and with a dry (and completely empty) log book.

FTF!

Many thanks to NazzoR for a cache placement in The Hills area. Very much appreciated!
