Description

Wait. Are we going up the hill? Why did we just go down? Is there a cache around here?
Nope? Well there is now. ;)

Bye GCA.

24-Jun-14
I walked up the hill.

I decided powertrails are too much work for me! But i'm going to keep this one. Nice and easy.

Also thank god no spiders! Dancing

We kept climbing and the caches kept appearing on the gps

24-Nov-12
Disturbed the friendly huntsman. TFTC

29-Jul-12
Alright, a bit of gravity-assisted relief! We paused here to admire the views, which had become quite something. Mtrax pointed out the mudslide on Mt Tennent, which made a most impressive scar down the slope of the mountain - glad I was at home when that happened!

Thanks Bronnie for another cache with fine views

29-Jul-12
I came up here with Bewilderbeest and clan doing some caches for there Olympics geocaching games, I think this is the second or third time I've been up this Hill geocaching,
Fantastic views

Another find on the way up the hill.
Be careful of spiders with this one. Quite a few spider holes around and some egg sacs on the underside of cache Sick

The tenth day of our excursion out of Tasmania touring from Melbourne to Canberra and return via Gippsland was marked by the best weather for caching. No rain, not even a chance of rain, some clouds but plenty of blue sky and a very light breeze which did not have a hint of the bitter cold of previous days. We started the day tracking down the cache for the Hobart to Canberra Great Aussie Icon Hunt and then we spent the rest of the day in the Tuggeranong area, some of the time in the hills. We had a great days caching.

It took us sometime to find the best way to access Tuggeranong Hill - our GPS wanted to take us on a very circuitous route including along roads which did not exist. So it was trial and error to get to the starting point. We enjoyed the walk up the hill although we had to take a few rest breaks. Once we got near GZ, accurate coordinates led to a quick find. TFTC

Found @ 1205 completely by accident - I loaded Powertrail 1 from GC but there weren't any move around, so I assumed the rest had fallen victim to muggles or nature, or that it was a plan still to be (or abandoned) - then this one was discovered in passing, which created no end of confusion! It was only after firing up the GCA app that I learned the true allegiance of this series. I'll have to come back for a proper power trail run when I have the time - at least there's 2 already checked off! TNLNSL-TFTC.

A had a bit of a problem with this one as the GPS seemed a bit out and the clue led me astray, but found after a wider search. Its hidy hole seems popular with spiders, luckily none on the cache. Thanks.

TFTC!

03-Oct-11
Found along the way with a family walk to the top of the "Hill". Found in good order and cheers for the cache!

06-Aug-11
Slow and steady at this point - Mr Winglen had a recurrence of his back injury this week, and this walk was part of his self appointed therapy. We will see about the wisdom of that when he cools down I suspect. TFTC!

12-Jul-11
It was an easy find. The clue really helped. Cool hiding spot. Nice area. Left toy duck, took nothing. TFTC. Dancing

30-Apr-11
Last find of the day while walking late on Mt. Tuggeranong.

30-Apr-11
Another fine day to be out caching. Secret Squirrel and I enjoyed a real mix of caches and locations, with some easy urban finds, a couple of short bush walks, and a couple of easy hills.

30-Apr-11
It's hard to resist a warm Autumn day out caching with Captain Tomato - enjoying the metro bush

27-Apr-11
Dipped down for this one. I'd just stepped off the path to make the obvious find and heard footsteps coming up the path behind me, a muggle broke into a jog going past and didn't even see me, the jog didn't last long once she hit the next rise. Huntsman alert on this one, big sucker too, I left it alive as it was in it's home not mine, couple of prods with a stick and it left the area. Signed off and replaced with a bit of leaf litter to aid the still obvious hiding spot.
Going up...

Collected the series during a night walk. Wonderful no-moon, no-clouds night lights views from the top. Enjoyed the power walk, Thanks.

11-Apr-11
236. Okay crested the rise from #3 and then spotted the source of the buzzing. Two work crews of PCL chappies all apparently armed with chainsaws lopping trees in between #4 and #6. And a work truck parked directly opposite this hide. Checked that nobody was in residence and then made a quick log and replace.

TFTC and the quads.

30-Mar-11

16-Mar-11
No no - the camo is fine... That is the problem Wink - A geocacher can pick that a mile away Very Happy

16-Mar-11
Wow..i thought i put a fair bit of cammo on it. Looks like i'll have to walk up that hill one more time to check it out!

(this was the main reason for this series. Get me slightly more fitter!)

16-Mar-11
