Description
This cache was placed on our geocaching exploration tour of the Tarkine. We love this part of Tassie and think more people should explore this breathtaking wilderness. Sumac Lookout provides views of the Arthur River and it's rainforested banks. The car park is clearly signed and cache is located a short walk down the path. There is no need to leave the platform or venture past the railing.
Please replace cache as found
At time of placement cache contained logbook, pencil, Teddy ornament, mini photo frame, butterfly hair clip and lip gloss.

Searched with Steve for 15 minutes and the only thing under any rocks is toilet paper. CO needs to check this one out.
We first looked for the cache in spots a little further afield, then noticed that no need to leave the viewing platform...under rock...there was certainly one particular area that looked like THE SPOT, but no cache to be seen. I fear this one may have gone.(But I've been wrong before). Thanks anyway, it was a spectacular view.
A favourite stopping spot of ours when in this area and again the views didn't disappoint. Found another cache here some time back too. Enjoyed watching the many skinks sunning themselves all over the great Sumac Lookout sign. Thanks for the cache Tassie Trekkers.

Well, we really wanted to go into the Milkshakes to camp and grab the caches in there, but evidently both the Tayatea and Rapid River bridges were down. No! We thought. This will not stop us! We devised a 'cunning' plan of hiking in there on foot instead, along an ancient vehicular track. It failed dismally, and we came out dejected and thoroughly beaten and cut up head to foot after several hours of trying to hack our way through legions of sword grass (with a stick)... aaanyway, the trip wasn't a total loss as we were still able to access a couple of other caches in the area, this being one of them.
We logged the cache and ate lunch at the lovely table at the lookout while admiring the wonderful view of the riving shining below in the valley. Tourists came and went. I dropped in a couple of travel bugs, not realising it was a GCA cache. Oops. Hopefully someone will pick them up.
Thanks for the cache, this is a really nice spot.

The bright sun and lush spring growth made this a very pleasant drive through rural areas. Once near GZ a quick find was made. There are always great views from the lookout, with the views which varying with the weather. TFTC Tassie Trekkers
Amazing, 4 months after placement and still a FTF, which along with the view certainly made it worth the trip. TFTC
