Lovely falls. Hardest thing about this one was reading WP1. Eventually sorted that out and soon located the cache. Great spot.

Great location and spectacular falls. We struggled with wpt 1 as the information was behind a pile a rocks that people had started to drop down the hole in the perspex. We had to find a flexible stick long enough to move the rocks to the side. Eventually we got the numbers we needed and the cache was found. All good here.

Today i was working at Smithton and on the way back i detoured in to Dip Falls to grab the Multi cache, and the one at the big tree.
After dechipering the coordinance i was off to GZ to find the cache, on arrival the cache was quickly spotted but wouldnt come out the way i thought, after reaching around the back of thre timber out it came. there was water inside the container and the logbook was damp , drained the water and signed my name then placed the cache back into hiding.
i then went over and took some photos of the falls which had a great amount of water flowing over despite the summer weather. TFTC Clan Cerberus

I agree Dip Falls are spectacular if not unique. The phone number was hidden by rock fragments under the cover but some gentle tapping soon had it revealed. The hardest part of this find was the climb up the steps.

this was a great little multi even if i did bitch about all the steps Laughing cracking view of the falls from near GZ, thanks for bringing me here, cache was found and replaced between muggles.

Hello Tassie Trekkers,
I'd never been to Dip Falls before but really enjoyed it, well apart from all those bloody steps! We copied the details we needed then sat in the picnic shelter to work out the final GZ. I guess we would have gone to GZ anyway, ever without a cache to find.
Thanks for a good multi.

Hi Tassie Trekkers,
Picture perfect day to visit the falls.
Quite surprised to see so much water flowing.

The cache was easily found...had a bit of water inside but log dry.

Love cache locations like this...the reason I began geocaching...just awesome.

Many thanks for a superb location...cheers ST.

A beautiful spot. We had our lunch at the posted coordinates whilst working out the final location. Amazing views from GZ and a quick find. It's been a long time since this cache was last found! TFTC!

Scrambled around trying to use the hint as a guide. Unfortunately we did not find this today. Sad

A quick find on our second try at this one. First time we were muggled out on a wet winters day but today the weather was lovely and there was hardly anyone about. It's all in the timing! TFTC

Hi Trekkers
This cache gets the thumbs up from us today.
Anne started down the steps while I did the calculations.
With her gammy knee she "EAGLE ROCKED" (Doin' the Eagle Rock song) all the way down and back up - so proud of her effort.
Arrived at the bottom to be greeted by an ear piercing scream of delight from her re the scenery - she loved it.
I'd been here before but today the water flow was excellent and they looked brilliant.
I THINK THEY ARE THE BEST FALLS IN TASMANIA!
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.

Found out in the open further in the bush than hint suggested. It was Grand Central Station with muggles everywhere. Nice flow of water today. TFTC.

Replaced cache container and logbook.

As stated, container is rodent nibbled, and log saturated.

Went to log this cache on 4 November, 2012 with tealeaves90. Eyeballed it, but were surrounded by mugglers. Every-time one left, another two replaced him/her. So we left it for another time, which ended up today. As I knew exactly where it was it was an extremely quick find, the time really was that needed to return to the car. Cache container has been nibbled in two places by bush rats or similar, as was the bag with the log-book. The log-book was absolutely soaked. If I had with me a spare I would have replaced both of them, but no such luck. Would the next cacher to claim this cache please oblige.

Always take visitors from the North Island to see this beautiful waterfall, but thanks for giving me an extra incentive. TNLNSL TFTC

GPS had us about as far from the cache as it was possible to be in this lovely little spot. Thought about where we would hide a cache if it was ours, and sure enough soon found it. Grabbed the swaggie and will move him on soon to give him a change in scenery. Many thanks for the cache. Very Happy

left this one to geodad. He had some trouble with gps settling with tree coverage but came puffing back up the stairs with a smile to say he had found and logged it

We always enjoy coming to the Dip Falls - it is always magnificent but different . Today there was an moderate amount of water coming over the falls, creating sufficient spray to wet most of the columnar basalt and so create great reflections. After we collected the information from WP1, went went to where our GPS said WP2 should be but under the dense foliage cover, it was somewhat erratic and gave us at least three places for GZ all appreciably apart from one another. In the end we got out into the open where the GPS was better behaved and got a consistent GZ. Still no joy. Eventually the hint enabled us to locate the cache about 12m away from where our GPS was now consistently indicating GZ should be. This is certainly a site where you need to let your GPS really settle and then search widely. The cache and contenets were in excellent condition. Thanks Tassie trekkers for giving us another excuse to come back to this great place and thanks for the cache.
