A day trip to Mary River from Darwin gave us the opportunity to search for this cache. After so long unfound we came prepared with a replacement cache just in case it was missing.....Looked according to the description and hint and no luck. We have placed a replacement cache @S12 54.633 E131 39.196 - 13m from listed co ordinates as this was the only suitable spot. It is in the fork of a tree above chest height.
A lovely spot beside the river that can only be accessed through the Mary River Wilderness Retreat. We visited reception and the public have access to the river walk via the campground.
Many thanks Territory Dogs for publishing this cache for our enjoyment and adding to our geocaching experience.

WanderingAus wandered by on day 65 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, heading along the Arnhem Highway towards Kakadu National Park with the WanderingMrs (aka SWMBO), and pulled into Mary River Park to hunt down this cache. as always I was attempting a GAFF 0 find, so all I knew was the cache name, the size "Large", Difficulty: 1, Terrain: 1 and the coordinates. After ten minutes of careful hunting while in plain view of numerous muggles I came to the conclusion the coordinates must be wrong, because there was no possible place to hide a "Large" container.
At that stage I decided to settle for a GAFF 1 find and read the description. Being invited to "go for a little walk along the river bank" suggested the cache was not at the given coordinates but at least 140 metres away, that being the closest part of the river. I decided to take the risk and "go for a little walk along the river bank", and headed off along the BamBoo walk. I missed seeing the "Large" container on my way out, and having failed to find anything in 1.24 Kilometres of walking, turned around and headed back.
After 900 metres of back-tracking I took a slightly different trail at one point and spotted what I would consider to be a "Small" container, which seemed to match the description. Given that I had no real coords, and found the cache with a 400 CroM error, I'd call it a fairly quick and easy GAFF 1 find, and a First To Find to boot.
My find No 3806, LCC, TNLNSL.
We weren't actually going to Kakadu on this trip, that will happen in about a month's time with the caravan attached. This was just a trip to get some caches which might be difficult to get to while towing. We only went as far as the Arnhem Highway gateway to Kakadu National Park, where the cache GC1BXE6 Kak-a-dooo by Groboz was awaiting me. That cache shouldn't be confused with GC224GQ Gateway to Kakadu by slat's, which I found on 7 June 2011 on the Stuart Highway near the southern entrance to the park.
*Recommended* *Overall Experience: 3* *FTF*
The owner needs to Update the Coordinates to S12° 54.640' E131° 39.199', and also change the container size to "Small".
