It was my intention to look for caches in the Trevelyan Reserve. Being a nice day for a walk I wandered up the track and made a quick find. Very Happy Cache and contents are in good condition.

Thanks for the cache Tassie Trekkers.

RLD4963, and I were visiting the north of the state for a couple of days. We were slowly making our way to our accommodation in Hadspen, and we had found a few other caches in the area and decided this one was not too far away.
So glad we made the effort, a great cache. Thanks so much for adding to the caches in the area.

24-Nov-19
today we choose to target all the caches in the Trevallyn dam area, we attempted 14 caches with 13 finds and 1 DNF. it was a very hot waling along the trail so we were always on the look out for our slithering friends.
this cache was a quick find with accurate co-ordinance we were very impressed by this container. TFTC Clan Cerberus

Took the opportunity today to return to the Launny area as the boy and I had to drop the girls off at the airport to spend a night in Melbourne. So it was just the boys out and about searching for caches today. After we fueled ourselves with a hearty Macca's brunch. We got stuck into searching for few for a couple of hours. Then we decided to head home and relax.

Started the walk today but only completed halfway. What an amazing series so far!! DancingClapping . Co-ordinates were perfect. The hide was a refreshing change to find. TFTC Clan Cerberus

This was the best cache of the day. Not only is it a clever hide but I got to watch an echidna up close for about 10 minutes until I left it to go about its business. Top cache.

This was the second of my finding 3 more of the Branching Out series today. I had previously found #6 ages ago, and thought it was time to find a few more. By the time I was looking for #1, I was too far ahead to go back to find it and knew I had a return journey anyway. So off to look for #2 but had no luck there (or so I thought). So I thought that I would try and find #3 and if I had any luck there I would come back and find #1 and #2. Got to GZ for #3 and was looking and looking (like I usually do) and was about to give up and then I saw it. Great, now I to log at least one of these and then I remembered something about #6 and the penny dropped...back now to find #2, found a short cut through the bush and was once again looking and looking and reread the clue and pretty much only one branch stuck out but I had been there before and had actually found what I was looking for without even noticing. Two down, great! So back to #1 and ended up at the wrong side of GZ but soon realised that there was an easier extraction. Thanks for getting me almost lost, confused but I thoroughly enjoyed them and will get back and find the last two in the series soon.

Thoroughly enjoyed the search and finding of this cache, excellent construction and creatively hidden. Certainly beats the usual sistema under the rock.. thanks..!!

15-Dec-16
This was probably my favourite of the series. Really well done! TFTC!

We sort of zig-zaged our way to this one and just as we got to GZ Goose spotted the hide in moments and we were soon adding our names to the log, another great little hide from the TT's

We had taken a detour between Branching Out #3 and Branching Out #2 for grab North Tassie for Alby so we walked down the road a bit before finding an easy way back in. It was my turn to be the clever one and I uncovered the secret of this hide very quickly. One to go! TFTC

Checked on this cache today and the others in the series. Still in position and in good order.

26-Jan-16
Now onto the 2nd in the series and made the right choice here and the cache was soon in hand. Log signed and all was good. A neat little series that is fun to try...

Thanks again TT....

It would help if we read the cache page wouldnt it. Brick Wall Mr Felix found the first then returned to the car to only realise that he had to walk to this one further along the track. So off he went. Doh

Spotted this one faster than the first. Maybe hes finally getting over this flu.

TFTC what a great cache construction. Walked around in circles for awhile, just about to leave and thought I would give it one more try. Can't wait to go back and find the rest of the series.

Mr. Green After wandering about for some time, then going off for a coffee i came back determined to find this one. My gps wasnt telling me where i was - whenever I stopped it would then move slowly for quite a while so that i couldnt seem to gather exactly where i was. Fortunately I somehow noticed something that looked like it might be interesting - and it was! It wasnt where the gps said it should be, (gps mustve been tired today!) but finding it was a treat. Another clever cache!

Crying or Very sad Wandered around for quite a while. My gps was telling me weird things and was lagging behind. I gave up and went to have a coffee. will go again later when I'm caffeinated.

#GA322 - 14:50; I was in the area to collect Tassie's oldest GC cache and had a little time to spare for a couple of others. Made my way along the path towards GZ, before heading bush. Wandered around a little, checking out a couple of possibilities without success. Was pondering whether to DNF or not, when I thought a little deeper about the name of the cache. It was then I spotted something a little out of place and I soon had the cache in hand and the log signed. TFTC Tassie Trekkers Clapping

All kinds of cleverness being employed here. The hint led me somewhere that caused me to spend more time than was healthy, up close & personal. When finally found, the hide had me giggling to myself. Maybe I've caught a dose of caching silliness.

28-Aug-14
Checked on this cache and the others in the series. In good order.

30-Dec-13
I've only just started locating caches from the GCA website and so far I have not been disappointed with the quality of the hides. This one had me scratching my head for a bit. Really enjoying this series. TFTC

781. Another fun hide on this wander through this area with FFP - almost at the start of our honeymoon.

TFTC and the harbour bridge.

27-Jan-13
A short stroll off-track and this one was found fairly quickly compared to some of the others; the angle we approached it from gave it away! Nevertheless great fun to find, thank you!

20-Dec-12
Another top hide...well done. Ripper series...many thanks for the great caches around here...Cheers.

11-Nov-12

What an interesting hide. Didn't really appreciate the guard stinky ants but you gets what you get when you're out in the bush. At least it wasn't a snake! Wink TFTC

04-Sep-12
OK, the first variation.
I have to confess I needed the hint before I spotted this one, which was pretty dumb of me.
I was now pretty confident I would find the rest easily (ha!).
Thanks.

Finally, the afternoon arrives. We've had this series of caches on our "to do" list for so, so long and every time something gets in the way. We'd nabbed #1 a while back so the series started here. The smaller half of nutwood had a muggle friend along, hopefully a GCA cacher in the making, and what an excellent introduction!
This one was a quick find. The large, hairy and canine part of nutwood stood in amazement at the extremely lethargic wallabies hoping around us whilst I signed the log.

Only managed to do the two of these today due to time constraints but if they are anything to go by a great set of Caches. We walk these tracks all of the time so will eventually bag them all. Lots of fun, thanks.

06-Jun-12
We decided to increase the difficulty of this series by doing it in reverse. Great cache and a memorable series. A lot of thought and effort has gone into it and we enjoyed it immensely. TNLNSL. Thankyou for organising the hunt.

As all who have done this series of 6 caches have mentioned, what a terrific set of well thought out, cunningly crafted and placed caches!
Thank you so much for spending what would have to be an awful lot of time constructing these hides and probably an equal amount of time placing them.
You have given a lot of pleasure to many people already and will continue to do so into the future. I can't find these caches listed on the .com site just the .com.au site so some people must be missing out.

11-May-12
Second cache of a great series of caches in this area! TFTC!

12-Mar-12
Onto the second cache in this marvelous series, all of which were a delight to discover. Had a most enjoyable walk through the bush, accompanied by sounds of running water, roos, kookaburras, other birds, butterflies - and even ticks!
Spotted the likely cache from a distance and was very happy to be proved correct. Thanks for the hunt Tassie Trekkers.

05-Mar-12
After going through the burnt section and retrieving the remains of North Tassie, I wandered down the road and set off in search of this cache. I think I should have started a little earlier as by the time I got back to my car, it was dark. I did go and find 3 others in this series but didn't want to risk getting locked in looking for the last 2.
This cache also took me a little while to find, even though I looked at it and again, dismissed it.
Finally worked out that it was the cache and removed it from its hide.
Thanks for the cache, and the series.

07-Jan-12
Nice walk through here today. Missed out on two of this series as the kids lost interest due to the difficulty. Great hides.

29-Oct-11
While my wife attended a conference in Launceston I was allowed to go caching for two days in and around the Launceston Area. In the end I managed to go through to Derby and get the icem cache I wanted to find, through to Kayena and check my caches there and clear out the majority of Launceston Traditionals that were actually there. The only one that I failed to get was "Power to the People", where I simply ran out of time.

Another great hide, and a bit unique in its hiding position. I actually spotted the cache from about 10 meters away as I approached. Getting the lid off took longer and required use of a stick.

Another great cache. Thank you very much for it.

Hi Tassie Trekkers
Left Branching Out and made a "bee" line for this cache. The track is easy walking and the second detour to this cache was easy. Startled a few Wallaroo on the way and the sounds of singing birds was tremendous.
Overhead, it was gathering more cloud and rain looked imminent. Wind was gusty, but the gusts were getting stronger at times. Got to complete the series before the weather turns to bad or worse!
Arrived at ground zero to the sounds of croaking frogs. Looked around, but no water or ponds to be seen; the sound continued the entire time I was here. Great for locating a cache, nature's sounds mixed with the smell and other sounds of the bush.
Found the cache quickly, extracted the log, signed it and replaced all as found at 1200 hours.
Easier to find than the first.
TFTC and cheers; OldSaint.

26-Aug-11
2nd in the series, very clever hide. TFTC.

Another really good hide.
Two down and four to go....really enjoying this

17-Jul-11
Yet another cunning hide on a track we've never been down before

Took a little bit of searching till we had an ah-ha moment

The kids were mighty impressed and couldn't wait to go on to the next one!

Thanks

Thought this series would be a good excuse for a walk and only being a few minutes drive from home off we went. Excellent hide! Found it quite quickly it's actually very obvious. Love a cache thats a bit different. Smile

15-Jul-11
A good hide, great area for a walk. Much prefer these to the drive by's. Very Happy

13-Jul-11
Stumbled from tree to tree without much luck. I then opened my eyes and matched the situation with the clue. A great hide. Many thanks

09-Jul-11
My favourite for the series. Probably because I looked at the cache container and thought, "Ah hum!" Mr Muggle friend retrieved it and made the find. But my reasoning for claiming it is that he had walked past it and only came back to help me retrieve it. Anyway a wonderful cache. Thanks.

07-Jul-11
Whilst there is a very definite theme to the caches in this series, each is very distinctive with carefully planned and extremely well constructed hides with the coordinates being very accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk through this part of the reserve, sharing the company of wallabies, an echidna (which we though should be hibernating), black cockatoos and robin red breasts. This hide was a little more obvious than the others but only one of us could retrieve it. We were surprised that it had remained unfound - so, we will claim the FTF at 10:50. Enjoy we certainly did. Thanks for a great series TassieTrekkers
