Description

This is a locationless cache, which can be logged by anyone from around the world.

Find a business or a place with a double name and take a photo of the sign showing the name, with your gpsr visible in the photo. You can include one or more cachers in the photo if you wish, but it's not essential, UNLESS you can't include your gpsr in the photo.

Please include the double name in your log as well as in the photo.

This photo was taken on the last day of our 2010 Climatic Refugee trip, on Great Eastern Highway Just outside Midland, and would have been used for a similar cache which unfortunately was archived before we got home.

If your camera is your phone and your gpsr or whatever, and you can't make "your gpsr visible in the photo", then you need to shoot past yourself so that YOU are in the photo. Sometimes it takes two or three or even more attempts to get a good photo that way, but YOU'RE NOT USING FILM, IT DOESN'T MATTER, keep going until you get an acceptable one. It gets easier with practise.

If that's too hard, lash out on a CAMERA. My latest one cost less than $50 from Harvey Norman, only has 12 meg and 5 times optical zoom, but is WAY MORE THAN ADEQUATE. If that's still too hard, I refer you to the Ignore option.

If you think you've seen this one before, maybe you have. Someone published a cache named "Getting Ridiculous: new locationless ideas!" and before anyone else could come up with a more ridiculour cache declared that locationless caches were getting ridiculous, and archived his caches in protest.

Walla Walla in the Eastern Riverina in NSW. First settled in the 1850's by German settlers who had made the journey across from South Australia. They spread themselves out around the district and building a number of successful villages and towns and a vibrant farming community. Jindera, Henty. Walbundrie, Pleasant Hills to name some.

Wangi Wangi, NSW

We are enjoying an (almost) sunny day after a pretty sold rain event by checking out some trig points around Lake Macquarie.

We drove around for a while looking for a Welcome to Wangi Wangi sign but couldn't find one so we settled for the local primary school.

Thanks for the locationless scavenger hunt!

Just gotta love this one. It is on the Matilda Hwy between Normanton and Cloncurry.
The other side of the sign reads: Might as well crack a coldie as you're going nowhere fast.
And how true is that. This is a long stretch of road broken only by the Burke and Wills Roadhouse.
Thanks.

Mooney Mooney, NSW

Passed through here while on the M1.

Here's a view of the road sign with my Tom Tom GPSr in the picture.

Beautiful views of the Hawkesbury River.

I have been driving on this road for over 40 years and this creek has a unique name. BUM BUM Creek. Where it originated I do not know. Every time the Creek Name sign was replaced it disappeared within days. Same goes for the adjacent Bum Bum Creek road sign. In March of this year the road and bridge alignment were altered and the new bridge over this creek has new signs. They have remained in place for 6 months so there is hope they will remain thanks mainly to the new technology of the attachment to the posts. TFTC

No stopping on the Pacific Motorway for GCA photography so this photo's taken from the vehicle at 100kph. No gps but the Cachin'RV's antenna's on the left, that's part of our team!

Today I drove through Bindi Bindi, although I didn't manage to find the cache there, but on my way out I remembered about this locationless, and took a photo with my GPS.

Thanks for the locationless WanderingAus!

GOONOO GOONOO ROAD
(Pronounced Gunna Goonoo) On our way to an auction sale, spotted this sign and quickly took a photo .. so quick that getting ourselves or the gps in the photo was forgotten (your call if this should be a note). Great idea for a cache, thanks WanAus.

14-Dec-13
Driving out to Proston Qld to Boodooma Dam came past this sign. It is pleasant driving in the country after a little bit of rain.

31-Mar-13
On our mini caching road trip we called in to Grong Grong in New South Wales to visit an elderly aunt and uncle who have lived there for many years. Just love the name, rolls off the tongue - Grong Grong! Laughing

Mullum Mullum Creek Trail
Out caching a few weeks back and snapped a photo of this sign. I was surprised hasn't been logged before.

03-Oct-12
Came upon "BOOK BOOK" on a recent bike trip.
More of a locality but it would be a good place for a Library.

02-Oct-12
Bong Bong Rd Berry.

There are two signs - one for you, one for your pet giraffe.

MOMO, Sandy Bay, Tasmania
Hopefully I have corrected my previous mistake with this attempt.
Thanks for the cache WanderingAus

"TOMTOM"
How could one find a more appropriate example of Naming It Twice? Not only is the business name repeated, but the item upon which the name appears is (one of) my GPS devices! I think this one deserves two green ticks! Smile The photo was taken whilst sitting in my car on the ferry that travels between mainland Tasmania and Bruny Island.

15-Jul-12
So nice they named it Sailability twice.
Found at Constitution Dock in Hobart.
Thanks for the cache WanAus

EDITED ON 15/7/2012 @ 22:12 from a find to a DNF due to the following message from the owner

"You don't seem to understand the rules for this cache.

They only named it Sailability. They did not name it or register it as SailabilitySailability. The name is displayed twice. It doesn't qualify.

By your reckoning, you could also claim Subway, Coles, Woolworths, Dominos and heaps of other places where they display their name more than once."

Sorry Wandering Aus for not understanding the description

Pizza Pizza
Great Western Highway
Wentworth Falls, NSW

tn_3114872151.jpg

This used to be our favourite pizza place -- great pizza and lasagne and very close to home.

But then it burned down one night!

tn_3034872151.jpg

Last week the refurbishment was finally complete, and the owners held a 'Grand Open' festival. Of course, we attended . . .

Bong Bong St in Kiama NSW is in the centreal area of town. It starts at the sporting field on the headland and moves inland past the Grand Hotel (really yummy meals to be had here), railway station (regular trains south to Berry and north to Wollongong and Sydney) and then on up into the residential area.
Thanks for this locationless cache.

Today was the fourth day of our excursion out of Tasmania touring from Melbourne to Canberra and return via Gippsland. We visited a number of towns and areas today between Bairnsdale and Cann River and we were lucky enough to find some caches along the way. Again it was overcast at times with some very infrequent showers, we have had another excellent day. We were driving from Lakes Entrance to Cann River when we came across the small town of Nowa Nowa. Yes, it was a nice little town but we are not sure that they named it twice for it being a nice area. A photo of the "Welcome to Nowa Nowa" sign has been adde to the Gallery. TFTC

Thanks WanAus198..

I have seen this word a few times in my journey to find a lot of caches today. The signs are on the Mount Lindsay Road between Stanthorpe and Tenterfield. Have no idea what a boonoo boonoo is or what it means in aboriginal. Will claim this one before one of the locals realises that it has not been photgraphed up till now.

14-Mar-12
Ki Ki is a small town between Murray Bridge and Ballarat.

Wagga Wagga......so nice they named it twice, as you can see on the attached photo.

One of Australia's biggest inlands cities, and yep, a great place to visit. Photo was taken just before the turn off the Hume Highway.

Thanks for bringing this cache back.

WanderingAus wandered by on day 96 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, wandering around a Mount Isa shopping centre with the WanderingMrs (aka SWMBO) after an 11 week stay in Darwin, when I spotted the Kiss Kiss Fashion Jewellery shop.

So nice its a good reason to visit this restaurant twice.

There's a couple here in Hopkins St, Footscray if someone else is looking for another one to log.

Great cheap food here.
